Ok, so I've started painting. These first few pics are studies I did on tracing paper. Tracing paper is a great surface to practice on. It's cheap, the oil paint doesn't soak through, and it's a really nice, smooth surface.
These were 20 min to an hour each.
This is the final piece. I think I spent three sessions on this, a few hours each session.
