I have to agree with Sveta on most behalf.
You've gone through quite some improvement since you started this thread, mister. 8)
And on your sp you look still rather young (stirs up some depressions)
How old are you?
Eager to see more. Keep it up...

Sve, I still have a LOT to learn. haha. It's just that, I strongly believe that drawing is the foundation to great Art. Even if you mastered anatomy, or if you have mastered paint handling, etc., you won't go anywhere if you don't develop your drawing ability, only mediocrity will await you. But I will take my time to study other technical matters such as composition, painting, etc. Don't worry, in time, I will share more advanced works. As of now, i've been painting in oils. I'm getting better during each new session , but it's still a long road.Originally Posted by sve
Figure drawing sessions here are very scarce! It sucks. I will have to go to a far place for this. You'll have to wait for a while, but I'll sure be posting some.Originally Posted by sve
Very interesting analysis on my portraits! Thanks!Originally Posted by sve

Fanstastic sense of weight in your sketches, the ones of your baby sister sleeping are just sublime. the hand dynamics are extremelly interesting.

patzon your last set of sketches are great..the studies of people doing things if good i used to do those...i would like to see you go more for line..be a drauphftman instead of a painter..hehe...use line..forget tone..that way you are force to touch things..here at the shcool we draw more tonaly which im learning..im always inclined for line though..but you need both..dont forget your perspective it is essential..as well as construction.. that way you keep proportions always to check..keep drawing from life..masters imagination..keep the study of anatomy/perspective, draw constructevely, tonally, linear..and the way you draw..hehe..i guess you are doing those things... you should think about coming to the school i think you would love it here.later
my new site, is crazy stuff but is my own space, I can say whatever!! hehe:

good stuff. I really like your skeletal/skull/anatomical studies. the fourth one down on the first post is great, very strong tones. I also like the sketch of a little girl, good loose fluid lines. some of your drawings look kind of light, try bringing in stronger values and contrast, but I know these are just sketches.
the portraits are good too, very lifelike. some of the figures from imagination look a little rounded, comic-book style, which is great if that's what your going for.
I like the Dante's inferno stuff, more of that please...have you seen Wayne Barlowe's book "Barlowe's Inferno"?, just mindblowing.
the bazaar thumbnails are neat, I used to live in West Africa (republic of Benin), and the markets there are just incredible.
keep it up!

Decided to revive this ole' sketchbook of mine that wasn't updated for about 2 years now. Hehe.
Anyway, just some random sketches. Please enjoy!![]()
Oi! kapwa Pilipino! Astig talaga ang Pilipino hindi ba?
I think your all of your sketches are really nice, and that I'd love to have some of the style you have in your work in my drawings.
Also, could you check out my sb sometime? it's in my sig: I want to know what you think I should improve on.salamat!
Lol, It sucks that I'm asian. I can't help it if I look like a million other people.

Hey Patdzon,
We have both a full-time Atelier program that meets 30-35 hrs a week. You are right about our diversity. We created our Atelier with the idea in mind of combining the observational techniques of so many Ateliers throughout history with the newer Illustrative techniques developed during the early 20th century. We are one of the only Ateliers that focuses on both the Narrative Expression and the Observational Impression of the subject. If you are interested in getting more info. on the Atelier program or our part-time sessions program , just send us your contact info. at [email protected]. We hope to hear from you again soon!

Your values are your strongest point in my opinion and your hands do need work.
Make some hand studies. It could be very helpful because is your weak point. Also try to put more effort in lighting to give your drawings more sense of volume.
Hi Pat, loooong time no see! Mahn! you've grown! Hope you get a scholarship soon. Dished put something up at the Phil-boards. Let us know what you think.
Cheers man! Galing! Your style is beginning to come out too.
Ped454 and Camara: Thanks for your comments! I totally agree about the hands. I'll post some studies next time.
Hawkin: Hey, Tom! Thanks for the kind comment! Yep, I saw her post at our thread. I think it's a great idea. Time to dig up some references!![]()
Some hand studies from various references and a sketch.
This is a personal piece.
More hand studies. This time from life and imagination. Plus a perverted sketch. Can't help it. Sorry.
