    So called "digital paintings"

These people really piss me off. Taking a photo, throwing a filter on it, then having the nerve to call it a digital painting. Feel free to visit these photographers and let them know they are truly doing the artworld a diservice by delcaring this stuff as paintings.

Remind them that they are still creating art, just not digital paintings.

There are many more, you can probably find them all over the net.

only people that are not artists will fall for the those pictures. its not like theyll be fooling any art directors. its really sad, quite frankly. they might not even realize what they are doing is wrong(calling it digi painting)

    I instantly got bored...
Am very sure any real artist would sense something is missing in them... they seem really to be lacking something...

I don't like being a "cranky pants" but the reason this concerns me, is there are people out there who are making good money off of the public on this crap. Maybe these two websites are not, but I've seen others. It's a fraud. Majority of the public does not know or understand what real digital painting is. We are a small group of artists and I just wanted to let you know that people like these could hurt our reputation.

People buy art for many reasons. Many value artists who can create, paint, sculpt etc. IMOP, photography is not a form creation. It is "capturing" a moment in time. While both are forms of art...hell just about anything can be called art...the two forms are completely different.

How people percieve digital painting ...time will tell.

I meant no offense, Otis- I own several pair of crankies that I love to wear, especially when delivering comeuppances to turds like these guys. There are charlatans on the fringes of every great thing, and decent people need to be vigilant- and assertive against them.

There will always be scams, frauds, bad ideas and other things in the world of art.

There is creation in photography. If there wasn't then we won't have great photographers like Ansel Adams, Eugene Atget, or Imogen Cunningham.

Yes Forge, an excellent example of his new style he uses. It is noticably different than his Blue Period...

Main problem is that people won't be willing to pay more for a real painting.
When supermarkets sell stuff at 50-100 EUR or U$ including a frame, "normal" people won't buy a painting from a hobby artist like me for more, even if the frame has cost more than half of the sum.

At least the guy with the animal "paintings" isn't suggesting he's really painting from photos but says:

Your cherished pet's photo is transformed into a beautiful, digitally "painted" work of art and printed on your choice of artist's canvas or textured watercolor paper.

Your talking about that Dylan kid? He doesn't actually paint on the canvas? I thought he was retardedly amazing with a brush...
