Arrow Old Man's Sketchbook got m4d bandwidth!!!

Old Man's Sketchbook (some females included) So, finally, I decide to post a sketchbook... I have drawn all my life, but circumstances (money, mostly) led me to work in commercials doing 3d. It's a good living where i am (Colombia, South America).. but it's so..unglamorous I mean you can only make 30 or 40 product shots of laundry detergent before it gets bleh-ish.

Finding CA made me sit down and draw again, and I'm thankful to all the people here for helping me keep my sanity. I'll do my best to update if people like it enough.

    please crit my a** off

Welcome to the forums. Some real nice ideas here. The sketchbook section, as I've found, is probably the fastest way to improve and also keep a log of your improvement. Keep posting.

I'm glad I found this thread. I like your style.

Other than a tendency to concentrate more on the upper body when drawing the humans, there's nothing but pure inspiration here.

I'll be eagerly awaiting the next update.

Are you kidding? I LOVE this thread! Keep gunnin' away.

The last time I posted (a week ago or so) my message never actually appeared -- I'm assuming there was a browser/net error. I should have retyped it.

Anyhow, awesome stuff. That vulvic beastly is hilariously good. There's a bit many folds going on but hey, it's its own organism with it's own independent anatomy, right?

    Hey Botch...

If you start to cry I will slap you silly with a glove full of coins so you will have a REAL reason...

If I have not posted is because I am in the lands of the old Inca Empire and the internet have not cast there web to this shores...

So... keep going... you may consider to dig under the rocks and uneath the old tarot...

    Keep going my good friend.

Yeah great thread dude. Keep it up. Putting me to shame with the updates. I especially like your mechanical stuff - the boy with mech legs is cool. Your people could use a) more sense of weight and balance - lots of them are falling over and b) more... reality, for want of a better word. Some of them are excellent like multi-armed the robot girl (especially as they're without refs), but a lot of them have the kind of stylized look that comes from drawing from tricks instead of knowledge. I'm speaking from experience - I'm trying to fight the same tendancy myself right now. The solution is LIFE DRAWING! (You're going to hear that a lot on these boards). If you're not doing that already I can highly recommend it - both models and just people on the bus are very helpful.

    Keep it up!

You're a real champ with marker shading.

I like the chic in the mech thing. At first glance though, and most of the second glance, I missed the right arm till I sorted it out from all the detail going on all around it.

What's the context with the sequential commission stuff?

It's a dream assignment, Craig.. Some Colombian investors (I'm colombian btw ), decided to set up the competition to starbucks in china, beijing, specifically.

So this designer friend of mine gets back from beijing, and she's all worked up about the huge columns in the place they bought... the feng shui experts told her it wouldnt work... three HUGE black marble columns. So she decides a comic would be perfect to offset the blackness and whatnot.

So i get hired to do a 15 page comic, my story, no text, black and white, for a VERY decent amount of money, and with time to spare. And it will be seen halfway around the world!!!

Something bad must be going to happen...

here's two more, still in sketch stage, mind you
