don't know what kind of help you want on this right now it has a very Degas feel to it. I like the outline the way it is. and the loose suggestion of form that you sculpted out of the values in color is working. I see the under-painting in the close up. Try and keep the colors in the clothing very mute. Maybe the same color they are now but layer it with paint. And the face and hand should be the focus so keep the color there. Strengthen the lighting highlights in the hand and shape the thumb a little bit more.

    Nice work by the way.

Dood, you have some really cool stuff in here lately. I'm digging all the collage stuff man, some of the faces are a bit off, but that'll come with time, looks like it was really good practice.

The latest painting seems a little bit off, concerning proportions. I think the arms seem a tad short, (I'm comparing to the size of the head). I haven't done many real paintings, so I can't really recommend much. Perhaps try and do a few pencil/ quick apint studies for the tough areas, like the hands, so you will be able to do it better on the final piece. Keep up the hard work

    excuse the shitty photography

That definitive "Oh Shit! the shirt is completely the wrong color dude!" moment. aka time to scrape it all off and start over. bah.

and finally to make sure the painting is completely gimmicky and lame, I brilliantly added a cut off paint brush(skillfully placed to look like it's floating in thin air and not really in my hand) and then I continued the brilliance by adding a famous quote to my arm, justifying the paintings unfinished state. I rock at being an artist....... sigh
oh well, I like some of the brush strokes in the shirt I guess

woo, cam, that last painting is lovely, bro.
I don't comment here enough, because I never know what to say. Please forgive me, and please post some more
also I have a question. On your sketch pages that are in color. is that just ink? how are you preparing the paper?
    CHEERS!

loren - just ink that I mix with rubbing alcohol to keep it from warping too much. I'm too cheap to buy the real stuff

Cam your painting of yourself is awesome! I think maybe you over did it with the white strokes coming off of your shirt, but other then that I think it is really cool. I like the qoute, and the paintbrush, haha! Your new recent sketches the gilr with the snowballs, and sketches labels 'stuff', the gilr sitting on her butt sorta wit the hat on is great!! nice shoulder, and nice expression on her gace. she looks like she has airplane wings on her hat. I think this would make a really cool painting just her on the page floating with an airplane hat.
I hope to see you sometime soon. good job Cam keep it up!
