Teaching myself sketchbook: With Loomis and Chris Hart (Updated: Dec 03, 04)

I'm a computer graphics student trying to get a solid foundation in concept art. I had posted some of my sketches a few weeks ago asking for some help and I have now started going through Andrew Loomis's Figure Drawing for All Its Worth (online) and also Anatomy Made Easy by Chris Hart (print).

Feel free to post comments and help me out please. I am working to improve myself and I know there is MUCH room for it.

    Page 19 of Loomis.

Tried to make them all look the same, the first looks much heavier and stronger than the others, I'll be going over this page as much as I can until I feel comfortable with the material.

    Page 39 from Loomis

Doing these and then as a break I just decided to do place those objects on my desk and draw some still life. I like how the dice came out.

    Long time, here's some !

Long time no updates I've done more working from Loomis but scanning in from a different sketchbook. I think I'm definatly improving.

Some artwork from a video I watched about basic concept art, we drew this manga and the duck

Muscley-head I drew from Loomis reference

Concept I had for a warrior. I don't really like this but I am interested in it and will go back and resketch this.

Used Tone Rodriguez as reference from Snake Plissken chronicles comic book.

you are on the right track dude, just draw all the time and you will see the improvement. I remember the first time I copied those loomis pages about a year ago and they looked about the same. At one point I was making myself fill 5 pages a day so I would improve, and I did (of course i still have a long way to go, but so does everyone in their own mind). Also if you like getting comments you should give them out, that way people will notice your name and give them back. It doesn't matter if they're better than you, just say what you like and/or don't. and keep posting so we have something to crit.
