From SaiVix's Hands - Educate me

    Hi People,

I have been a fan of conceptart for a long time. Just got a scanner and I thought I would post some shituffs! I am here, like a lot of you guys, to learn from the greats and the not-so great.

Damn you Vic, you made a thread and didn't tell me....LOL, good to see you posting bro. That's a nice picture, I've always loved your color pencil work, remember back in high school, fucker I was jealous of your coloring skill, I lacked it cause of my damn red/green colorblindness, and still lack it, but shit can't wait to see you post some killer stuff.

Ahh more goodie post, I've notice that your characters are close to 6 and a half heads, i guess it's a preference thing, most artist use about 7 and a half heads, that coloring is coming nicely, to grab a viewers attention try to find the area that would get the most detail while leaving the rest a subtle detail, whether it be the guy or the hair itself. Also check your lighting, it looks like the lighting is coming from the front and the left and right side, but the character is behind a darker wall. I don't see any lensflare so it's all good (lensflare is a taboo in digital painting)....LOL, yo I'll find some good coloring tutorials soon for ya. Keep at it and let's get the finish product.

Gah.. I think I am gonna rethink my whole process of drawing.. I want to try digital painting, but I don't have a tablet... That's koo though. I am just gonna make something with my mouse, "Redee". After just sitting down for hours waiting for an idea, that was the only one that came up.. I was hoping for an idea of a drawing. Hah.. But anyways..

Don't get discourage man, practice those Loomis studies, and practice them constantly, wield the things you learn in your mind, and you'll see progress within a month if you draw daily. Draw some stuff from life, and then use the stuff you learn from it and integrate them into your conceptural character design. Hey you got OC right, maybe we should OC sometimes, let me know. More updates please.
