    Shauns Daily Sketch Book

I recently decided to learn how to draw. All advice would be great, because I see alot of people improving here quickly. Below is my playing around with some basic anatomy.

get a book on anatomy. then draw the drawings just like you see them. don't rush it, train your eye to see things correctly, and train your hand to follow your eye.

    welcome to the boards
I self-published a book on the fundamentals of drawing from life.

You can get Loomis's full book on figure drawing on saveloomis.org which should help some. Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain will help immensely too. I've used it and I recommend it to anyone. I'd also recommend starting out small. Get a still life set up, nothing too complicated and do that first. Get comfortable with learning how to draw things accurately before you dive into the figure.

Keep in mind that this process of learning the bare bones basics will take a few weeks to a few months. So, take your time like jetpack said and don't rush things. That's probably the worst thing you can do. Patience is key to drawing.
