little figure drawing... have to do some traditional stuff next time...
little figure drawing... have to do some traditional stuff next time...
Damn, damn damn damn, there's such a command of the human form going on in these last pages, great stuffNormally I'd say "more studiiiiez" but.... well, right now I don't quite think you need em.
No crits on anything![]()
thank for your kind words Rhinevill, but i think i DO have to study way more anatomy, although i am quite good at figure and head/face drawings, i suck at hand and feets and animal anatomy...
and i noticed today that my analog pencil skills are horrible...just don´t know why...
ok here is a reference piece for practice, hope you recognise her.
I do this because i am quite bad at similarities, portrait.
So here we go, i thing i took about an hour... PS
oh man i definitely have to rethink my first steps for a drawing... pure chaos!!!
First stage... 20 min no ref.
stage two: define intention more clearly, more expression, refinement...
your figures have a wonderful serene feel to them.
crit- the arm holding the sword looks a little awkward, like it should be foreshortened some. the stomach looks flabby because of the outward shading on the belly button and the round lines on the sides and bellow the belly button.
yeah the forearm is too long... thanks for this and the other hints, RETEP!
here is a quicky.... love it.
I hope to find time to finish all the sketches....
ok one traditional stuff this time, because i suck at drawing hands and feets, i studied my both hands today. (quite hard to draw your right hand when you are right-handed)
Learned quite a lot and will do some of this kind again...
(1 hour... don´t know)
oh and here a enviroment speedy... not much going on, right!
oh dear!! i thought i have given myself the promise that i NEVER do a oil painting without a pre-sketch, an idea or a reference.
But hell! i did it again... through 3 overpaintings i got to this...
not finished but enough to show it to you and tell me what to improve.
What i see myself in that shot is that the shoulder is too wide, although in real it looks right...
here we go:
Oil on gessoed board, from imagination, 40x30cm
Those paintings are really fine.nice drawings and concept peices.
just keep this up n posted.
ok although it did not finish this piece, i stop working on it right now.
The main reason is that the ground is really bad to work on... no fun at all.
The first imag shows the result after 30 min
the last the "final" result
You've some real solid skills man, it's very inspirational.
Wow, amazing! I love those black and white animal speedpaints. Great style! you paint interesting subjects![]()
i saw yesterday some speedpaintings on the internet...
So i gave it a try myself.
Don´t know 30 -45 min.... PS
and 30 min additional:
keep it up... its looking great!!
very nice works here ...
long time no self portraits.... doesn´t learned so much, yeah? lots of mistakes which shouldn´t take place nowaday...
quickes about 15 min
ok i hope to get this to a finished statues in the next days...
I had some little help from reference image for the head
I don´t really know what to do with her arms...
Xaya
awsome im speechless........![]()
My sketchbook
@Gerbil Fetus: thanks a lot, but don´t give me too much sugar...
didn´t you see the stuff from these guys with 5 stars?
ok don´t know why i started a new speedy but... here it is:
30min, PS, no ref.
This SB gets better and better...![]()
always difficult to improve a speedy sketch in tension, and atmosphere...
...
@Flesheater: thank you, hope you say the truth...
I really like your portrait work, very expressive in a subtle and natural way. You're great with faces, and with more studies I think you'll be able to capture that same subtle expressive quality when it comes to hands.
Impressive stuff.
Commenting on you last posted picture, I think the hands are too flat, unless she's wearing gloves slightly larger than her hands.
Good sketchbook further..
hot
your bodys are not perfect, definitely do some reading up on anatomy and drawing from life, but in all your pictures you get away with it because of your wonderful faces, they make all the difference hehe
I wish I could draw/paint faces as fast an solid as you, great
keep up
@aedman: thanks a lot for your words, hope you are right!
@mono2k5: yes you might right, as i already said drawing hands...![]()
@Darkside: thanks for your critics, i am totally agree with you, i didn´t do anatomy study for months... but wait till september... when i have done some finished stuff, for my portfolio!
so here also a.... quicky about 30min, like the scenery (remains my of a dream i had)... well and Lord of the Rings....![]()
ok here is something, which just happened, no refs., no idea what it would be.
Took about an hour, just wanted to catch this silent atmosphere.Speedy
damn, haha that scene reminds me of a pic of wes that illustrated a similar moment
thx for the crits by the way, helped big time.
ps: I´m not better than you, you´re way ahead of me, I just spend much much more time on my pieces![]()
If we ever meet, you´ll discover that I´m the worst doodler ever hahaha![]()
