Hey man! i'm sure you'll do fine on the competition, i think you are giving yourself far too little credit. Keep it up!
Great stuff here. Dont be afraid to take a break from art for a while if its frustrating you. Our brain actually goes through things weve done a couple of days back while we sleep and "replays" it and usually improvement happens while we are not doing anything or are sleeping![]()
Your art is strong so stop worrying about some contest, afterall art shouldnt be about competance
Good work
insane mate, you can tell how much hard work youve put in to get to this stage at such a young age and it really does show, keep it up and dude ur gonna be big

I like your works, but in particular I find really interesting the study on armours. Do you use a rich documentations or it's only your imagination? I would like to see more your works about "technical" detailsYou could design a entire line of armour and army stuff! Well done!

exceedingly lovely sketchbook r, particularly this page from the last post has so much movement, really gorgeous anatomy study. it's like the page is an undulating, swarming herd of people in space. great studies from both imagination and reference! inspiring work for my insipid brain!

Peetiful! I have always admired your avatar as well.
Cool stuff Rod! I like the core shadow shading. It looks good without having to do much effort. Sometimes your figures will look a bit squarish, but other than that, You have improved so much! Nice to see that someone my age can progress so well. I need to catch up! haha. one more year! can't wait til next update!
Wow, you are amazing, I love your anatomical studies. I just hope i'm half as good as you at your age. Keep it up, you're gunna be big!

Wow. Everything's looking nice man. I love the line variation you're getting in your life drawings.![]()
Great sketches, particularly dig those imagination figures from post #607. What did you mean in this one http://www.renderosity.com/photos/Ar...ticle14689.jpg by "use the plane break to establish dominant forms"? Does that mean thinking in terms of block forms?

Groovy work as always. If your majesty has time, drop a comment in my sketchbook? -deedee
Man, that last update is killing me, leaps and bounds man, leaps and bounds.
amazing rendering style you have there, great work on the armour and the last update is a real killer, could maybe have done with some more highlights on the knifemans blade/hilt but obviously the cold silent death that is work took you away.
quick reply here,
good to see you getting into armour, very interesting stuff!
are these reffed? http://www.renderosity.com/photos/Ar...ticle14719.jpg
Gotta run dude, keep it up!
Groover McNab:thanks a lot man!
armando": thanks! exactly right there. basically you have say, a cube with a front and side. the edge dividing the front/side is the plane break. in the face it is no different, there is a plane break that divides front and side, and in the body (eg the ribcage form) etc.
voraz:thanks voraz, consider yourself lucky, the early pages are terrible and worse
Diego:thanks a lot man!!!
Doyle': yeah im a majesty, king of the try hard artists harhar. ill visit your sb nowespecially since you asked so nicely, stroking my ego and all

cool dude, what were you listening to? (and he turned, etc) i still have to shoot u that tool cd, or have you got it yet?
About the last post and your work in general - I think you need to work on the mid-tones, right now your work from imagination looks very comic-like, but if that's a style or a way of drawing you want to maintain then I'm ok with thatThe life drawings and gestures look as good as always. Don't be afraid of trying different things, a little versatility is always a good thing! -doyles aurelius

hey man, nice batch of drawings
could you tell me how is your life drawing schedule? how many quick poses, and how long is the long pose and that kind of stuff. In my class we don't do any quick sketches, don't know why? silly teachers maybe.
Cheers
