damn you and your hands maggot!!!

sorry i couldnt comment on ur sp, had massive crunchtime today!!!

most of this stuff ive seen, and you know how i feel about it. kudos...

the sp is very nice, only thing frustrating me is the ring of value around the end of his nose- its a tiny bit too pronounced and makes it look apart from the flesh.

man, you got a lot done at the pub! we need another get together in the next few days!!

    cheers!

Well fuck. *hangs up his pencils.*

No seriously great stuff, I can see a TON of improvement in your understanding of form, value, anatomy, etc. Keep on keepin' on.

    Rod,

Nice studies, bro. You're workin' hard it seems! I really like the gestures you did. You've already recieved quite a few crits so I won't bore with the same ones because I agree with pretty much all that's been said. One thing I'd encourage you to do is back off the line a bit. You're very dark with that line pretty often and it might do you some good to lighten up and let the values define the shapes more. Just a suggestion. I know you do a bit but I'm curious how it will work out with more of your comic booky type work. And it also seems like you throw these values down fairly fast. Maybe if you slow built some of them and through your strokes through a bit more it might change something for the better? Just some suggestions.

Keep the planar/anatomy studies up too. Some more work on the faces might not hurt. Sometimes they seem like their misaligned at times in place if you catch me.

All in all, good stuff! I'll be looking forward to more of the life stuff for sure. Keep up those SP's as well! You're movin' along just spledidly, my friend.

    thanks exile i appreciate it
thanks adam u right, i should fix it but its too risky, im just gonna leave it and learn from it, since its very difficult to rub out and then blend it, so yeah,

thanks a lot max, i really appreicate the crits given, you are too kind haha. i will have to focus my attention on an eye study soon, im sure itll help

thanks zeb ill focus more on faces soon.

heres some quick sketches i did wen i had spare time since the last post.

Rodrigo.. been sketching I see. hehe.. that monster on the right is fully sick, love the legs dude. the creatures look fantastic.. The girl, I think the lower half is slightly short.. the groin is about the middle point, it comes a bit short. Brain man is looking good, hehe love ur shit man..

I think the last chick is a bit too stiff, you should draw out the figure like you do and put her cloak and stuff on.. her shoulders are a little too narrow. good going with the face though.

I guess I will see you on monday!! or was it tuesday??

    cheers dude.

Great update, Aussie! Nice figure studies! It's good you're still pluggin' away at those anatomy and bone drawings. I'm a slacker when it comes to that sort of thing really. I'm trying tho! This semester (started last week) I have three drawing classes! That's a TON! One of those classes is an intense focus on anatomy drawing only. We have to have a 9 X 12 hardbound sketchbook filled with all anatomy stuff by the end of the semester. The teacher promised that this would be the most intense drawing class we've ever taken and it would demand the most time from us. I'm a little bit nervous but I'm sure it will help my anatomy quite a bit. Because then I'll know... and knowing is half the battle. Ha!

The planar face stuff is good too. Keep 'em up! And listen to Max, he knows what he's sayin'! He has some good input about eyes and he's been trying to help me out a bit as well. I started really focusing on those eye problems the other day and already I'm seeing the wrongs of my ways. Give some of the advice a shot. You won't be dissapointed, my friend. Keep up the great work. I'll be looking for an OC soon.

Hey dude, I just went through your whole sketchbook and I've gotta say this is the most pronounced degree of improvement I've ever seen over such a short period of time. You're doing really well, keep it up. Keep experimenting, keep practicing and keep realizing that there's always just a little more there than you noticed the last time.

    Awesome sense of volume mate!

Looking at this one, I feel my bones breaking apart.
    The heavy fellow glows rudeness.

A crit now then; the eyes you draw tend to get too stylized in relation to the rest of the figure where you put down lots of effort into the making of volume, shadows etc.
The eyes becomes too 2D while the rest of the face is expressive.

    Great SB, I'll be watching.
    But I'm le tired...

Nice work man!! I really like this last creatures
I have one critic tho, in the second page the girls eyes
on the upper right are to far apart and the drapery of the
fight attendant on the left is not belivable, is not following the
contours of the the body, and it needs more contrats,
I mean the value realtionships are not working to make the
image pop out the the page.

Other than this dam!! keep on this dedication,
    your are huge inspiration!
