hey all, i won a scholarship to an art school today...apparently from wat ive heard its the best drawing school available here in Aus...very focused on the traditional aspects of art...i think its worth about 4 grand or so, so its only for a year or so but yea im still really happy to win it. i think it was one of the big prizes of the exhibition so i was stoked.

Congrats!! I'm really happy for you. It might just be a years-worth etc, but it's friggin' 4 grand. That means they looked at you and said we'll shell out 4k for this guy, that's a big deal.

Really nice contrast and lighting on those pencil sketches (hands, faces, torso studies). I mean reaaaaallllly nice. You'll be beating Wes9000 at his own game before long!

Like MoP said, good contrast. Those last three digital sketches are practically textbook examples on using contrast correctly and to add focus. I'm going to go out and buy another anatomy book (lost my old one) after seeing how much antamoy work you do and how it reflects so much in your work.

haha thanks crow yea books are good for anatomy of course, dont forget to try and get into some life drawing courses if u can!

ok well anyways im just gonna post up the shit ive been doing since may 8, so yeah, went to life drawing sketch club last night for the diest time since jan, and damn i sucked big time haha , since it was all gestures i really had to remind myself how to do it again coz its like a completely different way of drawing in my opinon...but VERY important to figure drawing so i wanna go regularly, maybe once every 2 weeks.

heres three 5 min gestures i think they were 5-6 mins that turned out ok, the rest arent even worth the time to upload, lol.

Wow, 18 years old and this is the quality of the work that yuo are producing. Be proud of it! and keep at it which I can see you intend to do! I have a puny little crit though, do more life drawing. You are suffering needlessly without it.Do more observation, it helps you in the long run. Do less shading on you're faces, don't go into tone if you're not happy with the line. That is the case with much of you're earlier stuff but you are coming along reeeeaaly nicely! Played!
