love the abstract hair jd...color is juicy as always....shield and abstract areas that makes it feel movement and atmosphere are also yummy. there is some stillness in the sword area...not sure if that is intended...regardless I'm digging areas of it a lot.

glad to see you posting...i know you've got some more goodies in that hd of yours. can't wait to see more of what you have been up to.

Where are you workin these days? It has been a long time...

    Good to see u

    J

PS..Id definitely be interested to see you post those comic pieces you did for Charest back in the day. The peeps here would totalllly enjoy that stuff.

    Travis INX

     thanks jason.

i'm starting to post a few pieces now. when i get the ok, i'll post some of my newest work.

right now i'm working down in san diego at bottle rocket entertainment(sony) on rise of the kasai(mark of kri sequel). i'm doing concepts and other 2D tasks. i'm working with vance, so it's been nice to have his talent and friendship to work along side of down there.

here ya go, a bunch of travis pages that i inked some time ago. sorry for the soso detail and lack of cleanness with these. i only have old (8-9 years) xeroxes of these, but maybe with a little tlc, they can be spiffed up a bit. this was by far one of the most demanding of all my "tracing" assignments in comics.

    jD

*sorry if this is waaaaaaaaaaay to many images for one reply.

that was perfect jd...good stuff indeed.

I edited your thread to say Update with the new info. that is probably the best way to do it...or title it "JDinx Art Galore: or something like that....keep it a nice fat thread if you want. You have enough work to blow peoples minds here.

    Hey,

love the first one, it has in my oppinion a very BG/icewind dale feeling, played those games so much.. I assume you worked on icewind dale, since i saw the cover on your website. The icewind dale ingame art was the one and only thing that got me started on digital art.. Well, I'm definitly glad to see your stuff here. Please keep posting.

    JD,
I'm a huge Travis fan and I remembered seeing your inks over his work in WC. Both you and Rich did a phenominal job translating his pencils. Regarding the BG2 piece, I love the color choices. The pose for the female seems a little stiff to me but it's still a gorgeous piece of artwork. Post more work up here when your NDA allows!

Thank YOU so much for posting those inks.... I love B&w and it's a huge inspiration to get to see those. It's gonna help me out a lot on my own work 'cuz I always get scared when inking dark areas (too much or not enough ??)...I'm gonna study these very carefully.
I played BG like a madman......seeing your D&D art I'm starting to feel that itch again.....must..... not...... give in. .......DAMN YOU !!!

This is a very generous thread. Keep it coming please

    travis where abouts...

thanks again everybody for the nice words about my work.

hey Loga4, your question concerning travis and what he's been up to...i have no idea really. i saw him at the comic con 2-3 years back but that's about it. he was living in france and then up in the bay area for a while i think. i still stay in contact with some of the old gang at the studio (homage\wildstorm\DC) so if i hear anything i'll pass it on.

    PicPaint

i've been shooting allot of photography over the past few years, and clouds have got to be some of my favorite things to shoot. i've been playing around with doing a little painting over some of my images lately. i'd like to paint this one up traditionally in oils. the back burner is filling up...

i put together some of my photography up here: http://www.sitestaging.net/jd/

    Painted Heads

female head studies done in painter.

    thanks guys.

    jD

*scott, i used almost all painter 6 on that first BG2 image. although lately i'm using more and more photo shop CS to render my pieces. it just depends on the image and the day sometimes. i still go back and forth between the 2 programs on all my images regardless.
