this was all in the finished section but obviously must keep teh sketchbook updated!

hello!

this last semester i've been working on a sketchbook/workbook kind of dealio. i have since made printouts of each page and binded a mockup book. i still have the original physical pages but i'm holding off on binding them for the time being. some of the pages turned out nicely and i'm a little loathe to score them through the middle and fold them in half! (i never forsaw this dilemma when i was starting out)

the physical pages are 26x10" (or 13x10" folded) with work on both sides:

(the pages with the large ugly borders haven't been cut to size yet. the brown stuff is leftover from the mailing tape that was used to stretch each paper)

here's the mock book:

(roughly 8x6", printed on matte paper with epson k3 inks, traditional binding)

and finally the work... obviously, they aren't all winners. but overall i am pleased everything got done on time. i tried to have a certain progression in terms of media and style. media used for most of the pages was acrylic, graphite, pen and ink, and a little prismacolor. the paintings towards the end were done in acrylic and oil. handling the book itself is a nice feeling... like something you could buy at a store...

next term i promise more conceptarty/entertainmenty stuff!

ok, im subscribing to your thread. the peices are outstanding. what imorrality. what twisted, sick dementia, tranmitted through the bodies of very well crafted, articulate subjects and from the strokes of vey adept near masterful fingers. you have a natural gift, if not one procured through a disgustingly extreme span of study. most remarkable. keep up this grand work here.

i took a workshop that let me buy a little kit with everything i needed. you should be able to google it up and get some decent instructions and materials lists and such.

excellent work man. Keep with the life drawing. Hey ur anatomy proffesor isn't sean dangaren is it? he teaches the same same way, all gesture based and ur drawings look like they are from a cal arts life drawing student

cool artcenter. i love artcenter! your style kinda felt familiar -- especially when i saw that shirt and u mentioned the chalk powder. I heard of the toils of using chalk powder and stuff. lol That must've been a pain.

vances: hehe haven't touched life drawing since 3rd term (going on 6). not familiar with sean dangaren. lot of the life drawings here are experimental fun things i like to do... real life drawing (for me) looks a whole lot different and i'm generally not too good at it
