    cursed dolls

I've worked really hard on this for the past 2 days .

It started out as a speed painting, but I ending up taking it all the way to a finished piece.

Idea: cursed bug charms turned a mother and son into dolls.

    I hope somebody likes it.

i love the damned look about them, its almost like the early stages of something lovecraftian before the true evil behind the mask is brought forth.
also are those egyptian icons on them , nice reference to the undead and the mark of those facing the trials to the after life.

    demeter_luna: Thank u.

defcombeta: Interesting thoughts. I did not think of egyptian icons when I created the piece, but It's cool you saw a relation there, and with the afterlife.

where is the light source? I recommend using a warm color for you highlights, rather than a cool color like the shadows. this would make the piece "pop" a little more so it's not so flat. Id try an orange hue (very subtle ofcourse)

    nardfrog:

    good crits,

Warmer highlights, I'll remember that. I have still so much to learn.

The light doesn't make too much sence I agree, a bit queer (note, there are several sources)

They remind me of 1950's "futuristic" robots for some reason. Pretty cool concept, I like the smooth surrealness to them.
