The Battlefield Butcher

There are tales that have been passed down for generations of mythical beings that exist in the world. One of these myths is of a soldier that is drawn into
this world from the smell of blood and the agony of war. He is known as the The Battlefield Butcher. Towering above the average soldier, 7 feet tall, and
eyes burning with rage, the Battlefield Butcher is feared by all who confront him. Unable to hurt or injure him, the average soldier is no match for the
Battlefield Butcher and has only to await their death and become his next trophy.

This week we would like you to design the The Battlefield Butcher.

The Guidelines:

• Must be human male
• Can be any time period (Example: Ancient Rome, Medieval, WW II)
• Think about what his "trophies" might be

The Rules

• Finals must be posted in the finals thread before the deadline
• Final post must include the CHoW number and the artists username at the bottom of the image
• At least 3/4 of the character must be visible
• Sketches or rushed artwork will not be accepted into the poll
• At least two wips posted with your final in the finals thread
• Background is optional
• Have fun!

Kings and queens, in all their divine right, give hope to the subjects whom serve them. It is their bloodline which will ensure stability and righteousness throughout the kingdoms in which they lead. In their majesty, however, lies a weakness. A vulnerability that only the most cruel of usurpers would exploit.

The "Butcher" waged bloody wars upon keys parts of the realms. At the cost of thousands slain, he sought out and captured the most valuable breeders of noble bloodlines, while killing the rest. These hostage kings and queens from the four corners of the earth are among his most prized trophies. In order to ensure his lasting supremacy, he wears the still-living noble heirs upon himself, as a form of human armor.

Lashed at the wrists, these unfortunate souls sway and drag as they are worm into battle. Their wailing is but a sweet song in the twisted mind of the Butcher. Some kings will attempt to betray secrets in order to tempt their captor and barter for freedom. Others will offer massive sums of gold. What they fail to realize is that their presence has already offered the greatest gift of all; invulnerability!

No man would dare strike a blow at the Butcher, for fear that harm may come to the royal bloodline. Every gift of hope that the nobility visits upon humanity has now become its greatest curse...

... and now no one can stop the Butcher.





Heya. Its my first post, so please be gentle I wanted to challenge myself to somehow involve living people as trophies for the Butcher. I figured out this rather weird concept for people-as-armor, and used some quick Mudbox posing to help me along with the basic construction. From there I did paintovers in Photoshop. This was a lot of fun and I am looking forward to seeing all of the entries. Thanks!

Period - Ancient India.
Type - Rogue Aghori Sadhu - Aghori Sadhus are known to devour human flesh at cremation grounds and cover themselves with the ash of the cremated bodies. They are worshippers of Shiva and are constantly high on dope. My concept is a rogue Aghori who goes butchering anybody he comes across in the battlefields of ancient India with his trustee ol' weapon "The Cobra". I wanted to do a water color effect. Made a mess of it eventually. But I hope I could get the concept across.
Really enjoyed this week's topic even though I was caught up in my job. All the entries are amazing! I wish I was half as good as the rest.

Finally done, great challenge, great work everyone!

Also called "The Slender Terror". During the war, he chained all the time in a cage, until his army release him. He's blindfolded and practically blind, but he can smell the fresh warm blood of every remaining soldier on the battlefield, and he hunts for it. He's using a double-bladed spear, the straight ones for cutting heads, while the curved one for picking the heads he cut. And he knows no allies.

Caught in an ambush while on a Long Range Recon Patrol his entire squad was wiped out. With little food and water and no sleep, he fought a week-long running gun battle against his Vietcong pursuers, eventually stumbling onto a remote friendly firebase covered in the blood of his enemies. By all accounts, he should have died a hundred times over, but he miraculously survived undamaged after having dispatched an estimated 200-250 enemy soldiers single-handed. His closest friend was reported to have said that upon his return to his unit, he appeared 'possessed by an evil spirit' and that as far as he was concerned, he never came back from that patrol.
