Topic: centurion war beast


Deadline for the voting: march 12th

Requirements this week...

- you will need to design 2 separate versions of the same species, with the centurion version having a bit more flair.

- the creatures should all have the ability to wage war biologically, meaning physical weapons that are a part of its anatomy. remember not to use any clothes, props, or weapons.

- feel free to put them in a scene together, but you can just lay them out on a design sheet if you wish.

Concept: Centurion Roach and Warrior Roach


A vicious creature the Centurion Roach's are born from pure bred species, they are much larger and have better tools such as tentacles to hold their victims. Born with hard carapaces their race has managed to survive war with other species and therefore own a monopoly of the planet they live on. The Centurions control and bully the runts of the species which are the warriors, these are expendable but no less vicious.

First COW done and had fun, wanted to go further with this but never managed to. Thanks.

Concept: Centurion Musk Bull

The Centurion Musk Bull has a lighter coloring, more defined back plates and horn blade than the lesser bulls of its war herd. These lesser bulls are dominated and kept in formation by the centurion. They use their musk glands to mark their territory and individuals within the war herd. The battles that they fight with other war herds over grassing land and cows can go on for days and leave the grasslands soaked in blood and viscera.

While the lesser of this species are battle frenzied when rogue, constantly seeing any reason to test itself against others of its kind, in the presence of a centurion they take on a more restrained lifestyle, staying under the centurions shadow and reacting to its decisions with earnest. The Cent is a peaceful creature, which is odd considering who it has under its beck and call, but its this awareness of peace and balance that has kept the species going. Without the cent to protect and subdue the drone when it's in over it's head, it will most probably die before it reaches sexual maturity. However, should anything disrupt the balance in the area the centurion controls, It will do everything in its power to end them.

Called Sheild-striders on their native planet this creature is plated in natural armor. I wanted it to reflect wear, much like metal armor or animal horns. The areas and beasts that have fought the hardest have smooth polished shiny spots on their "armor"The front plated legs can mesh with the armored forehead to provide full protection when attacked. The drones are dispensable and purely defensive so they have no offensive weapons other than teeth and spear-like legs. However, the centurion has a long body ending in a dangerously barbed tail, as well as the authority and cunning to lead the drones. Centurion is pictured behind the drone for scale. References were bulls/buffaloes and scorpions/crabs, as well as ants (for their military associations).

Concept: Dust Walkers


These warrior beasts are insanely fast and their speed enable them to catch up with their prey or enemy. They always attack in group and after they jumped up on the enemy all together they paralyze it with their poisonous fangs.

Concept: The Bone Domes-Grunt and Centurion
The Bone Domes are an intelligent and aggressive, per-literate race of reptilian extraterrestrials first encountered by humans when landing on their home moon of Kepler-22cA. The Grunts appear to gather in a herd around individual Centurions for both physical and spiritual guidance. When separated from the herd the grunts will behave erratically and attack anything in site, but when led by a Centurion they are a formidable offensive and defensive force. Using their massive musculature and thick skin they charge like linebackers and force their enemies to the ground with brute strength, then trample with their hooves, gore with their tusks, and crush with their skull plating.
The Centurion stands on its hind legs to detect enemy positions and guide its grunts across the battlefield. It is adapted to grow nearly twice the size of a grunt, both in order to intimidate enemies, and keep the grunts in check. It has brass-knuckle like bone plating on it's fists, and sharp, Poisonous extensions from its Ulna's. The white coloration on its spine and skull plate helps to identify it while it is charging on all fours with the grunts.

Concept: Centurion War Beast

We landed on Planet17X and discovered a new race of alien warriors, the Skayth. Negotiations for peace were short lived...The Leader of the legion let forth a blast of plasma from within his very arm! The results were devastating...our soldiers were completely annihilated. The species appears to have the ability to generate plasma like a spider creates silk. This biological matter is then electrically charged as it emits from the arm chamber. The largest Centurion versions have the ability to shoot in a continuous stream whereas the grunts shoot in charged blasts or pulse attacks.
