Ctrlpaint tutorials. Real deal?

I found this part of the website fairly recently and was just wondering if anyone actually paid for any of these? I mean, for one, in the light things like Gnomon DVDs and digital tutors these seem almost laughably cheap. Does anybody know if they actually worth the money? Why are they so cheap?

Totally worth it. I've learned a lot from those that I've purchased, and it has the bonus of supporting the generous free content.

For paid content, yes they are worth it, but on the contrary I always found equally or ever better content free of charge. It really boils down to learning basics like, form, perspective, lighting etc.

Secondly you won't understand Gnomon DVDs unless you know your basics. Scott Robertson is the only teacher I found to teach from scratch as well as Peter Han.

Ultimately these workshops will be worth it when you become a semi-pro and want to learn advanced and time saving techniques.

Most of the time I found the Masters of Conept Art following Andrew Loomis techniques at the very core with their own style mixed in.

Thanks for your replies guys! Just a little bit of context for you. Basically I'm pretty low on money right now so a friend offered to pay me for digital painting lessons. I got excited and even went around and created lesson plans for the first few lessons. When the topic of money was raised he dismissively said, "How about for every lesson I just give you a fiver or something?". I was pretty appalled and insulted. He said, "Well I found those tutorials online and they are ten dollars for an hour's worth of tutition". I kind of felt that this price is a little too good to be true. No way am I accepting a fiver a lesson. Fuck this!
