@RBeek: I like what you did with this, the one thing that I think needs some work is the head, particularly her face. She looks older than she should.
Sup folks! looking good all around!...it stinks but I have to go on a trip tomorrow and I wont be back until Sunday so I doubt I'll have time to finish. I miss hanging out here on CA ...seeing all this great art always gets me pumped to draw...anyhow it looks like a lot of people had the same idea...
here's my wip...

THIS IS MADNESS!

There. That's more in line with the CHOW description.
@ardentsideburns - I like the almost Tank-girl way you're going with this. Definitely different.
@JFierce - A ton of motion in this. Reminds me of Studio Ghibli work. Looking forward to your final.
@RBeek - Moody and inviting. I like the earrings - nice alt touch.
@Nizzy G - Yours has a touch of menace in it. I like that a lot - nature is dangerous.
@Claudio Grassi - I dig the eyes, really shows the relationship between her animal nature and that of her companion.
A little more progress. Just playing around with colors. Still trying out faces, haven't figured out a good one yet
One day I'm actually going to finish one of these -_-
Innocent boy of the forest. digital draft

Still messy, but getting there.
Hm... I don't want to obsess over this, so I think I'm more or less done.
Still slowly chugging along. Arms bug the hell out of me. Widestretched didn't feel right though I may have just not had them right. Then was in the middle of trying to lower one then noticed how late it is. Was thinking one arm lowered and creating a trail of plants or flowers on the ground while the other controls the wind but fucked up the arm and didn't even finish an idea of the other.
Need to figure out what feels right with a pose before I get into the actual characters details. Hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow and it will hit me because I'm noticing the general upper half needs work to match the lower.

hey guys!
I love the topic of this week!
because I can add a fluffy companion for my character lol
And I try to make the child's gender not so easy to identify,
to keep the child more mystery :3

deepskysurfer: Are you sure you are on the right part of the forum? The quality of this is nice, but this is very far from the subject matter. There is a brief at the beginning of each thread and you didn't seem to read it. Please visit this link http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...W-Updated-2013 and familiarize yourself with the rules of participation. Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of the thread when you check it out. Also, navigate your way back to the beginning of this thread to review the brief as well.
Thanks.
Awesome theme this week
Aw man, looking at all these awesome flowery entries I'm starting to feel like there's something wrong with me, when the first thing that popped into my head was this sad looking kid holding a lamb skull. LOL
I have to run, hopefully I'll have time to turn this small empty awkwardly cropped thing into a proper finished picture later this week.

going a little mononoke on this

I still need to rein those hips in a bit - try to drop the age a tiny bit more.
WIP 1
I'm unsure if I will go with male or female, but here is my first sketch anyway. Not sure if I got the 12 year old age range or not either.
Kahboom: that is looking great! Though, really try to push more design into him. Right now all we have is a young satyr-ish boy. Maybe add some trinkets or small garments.
Dumb naked king: lol, I feel like I'm insulting you by using your name. My crit is going to be that same as above, push the design. It's kinda bland right now.
prepsage: Studio ghibli ftw? I like it so far, just make sure that the wolf doesnt draw our attention away from the character.
Mouzzi: I think this topic is perfect for your style.

Second Draft, added base tones.
@kahboom - See, I did more!

To me, Mother Nature is not a human, animal, or anything tangible. It is a connection between all things, like a glue. It can be seen or invisible; be everything, or nothing; be alive or dead.
Actually, when I think about it long enough, Mother nature is a Ninja. Love Ninjas.

prepsage: Lovin' the Mononoke idea, and your anatomy looks great, can't wait to see it finished!
Kahboom: At first I was worried about yours but then as soon as you started to color it in I started to see where you were going with it. The legs still worry me and I'm sure your trying to work through it, they look really difficult to me, it's also hard to look for goat ref. in the perfect position, studying the anatomy helps but you'll probably figure it out before you have to do that.
Havok Reed: I feel like her right arm needs to be fixed, the way she holds the staff either needs to be looser or with more precision, right now it's just kind of sticking out there, you could reveal more about her personality if you chose how she's waving it. Otherwise, lookin' good.
FlakoFigZ: I like the otherworldly pastel pallet you have, your style reminds me of the animated film the Big Friendly Giant originally by Roald Dahl. His left hand may need some work.
Bnoch: May I be the first to say: Ohmygafagaefaefgjeilfj... that's amazing looking
Completely changed my original idea from the green elf deer boy to a regular boy. The green boy just didn't match the story in my head. Having a tough time fixing little details and wondering if I should even put background, even though for this piece I don't feel it's necessary. Probably going to add more trinkets and such to his design too.
Late to the game again!

Started a bit late but here is my approach. Lovely designs so far. Anyway, crits and comments are always
