Hello there~ Don't mind me. Just posting a few gesture drawings I'm trying to get in the habit of doing before I take on any big art projects. I've been a bit out of habit of doing these since my anatomy class a year ago. I hope further improve my art by doing these again. I'll be posting a few doodle paints and complete paints as well.
These are the gesture draws I completed yesterday. Some I timed myself on. Others I did not. I used SenshiStock refs on deviantart for these. Please pardon the large files.

Some random paintings, doodles or finished works from a few days to weeks ago. I'm sagemint on dA and sageminti on tumblr, hence the watermarks in the center not being Minetiot for these lol.

I'm currently still working on the Katy Perry portrait. Some fanart paintings here mixed in with celeb portraits and an original work.

What I'm working on at this very moment. An Oc mermaid. I'm experimenting with just building up colors instead of blending with the watercolor brush as I've done with the above paintings.

Finished mermaid from above. Also humanized Fluttershy from My Little Pony sketch and finished version of those sketches. Again, the watermarks are from when I post on tumblr and dA as sagemint/sageminti respectfully.
I'm currently still working on the Pinkie Pie painting(The one with the Pink fro). I decided to change the style of eyes I draw usually, as well as my painting technique. I'm much more satisfied with this method.

My first suggestion would be to get rid of the watermark, sign on the corner, more like the angel on #5.
You are doing a lot of creation work, wich is great, don't stop that, but try to include some studies in there, anatomy, values, colors, and all that good stuff.

If you want to get the scribbles out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgDNDOKnArk start doing these everyday. Also I might suggest doing a master copy of a painting you like using only a hard brush with the pressure sensitivity turned off to help you focus on edges.

I'm not sure what you mean by scribbles? :o
Could you point out an example please from above? I'm also not sure about what you mean by the second suggestion you made either. Thanks

Thank you. I'm trying to apply more of what I learned in school better this year regarding anatomy and such. Especially with color.

About the watermarks, I'm worried about art theft honestly. I try to keep a watermark lightly highlighted in the center(sometimes it's really bold and I'll change that). I don't really like the one in the angel picture because its far off and could be easily taken off by someone too :/

I'll just fix marks in the future to be smaller and less noticeable to people other than myself. Thanks again

Now that I've looked at the video, I see what you meant DatJerome lol. It's very helpful, and I'll add it to my gesture drawing schedule.
I tried it here before I went into an hour and a half of gesture draws. I think my anatomy looks a little better, but not by as much as I would like it to. :/ I took a little longer on them because I feel like if I rush I miss parts of the anatomy I shouldn't miss. Also, anyone have any tips of foreshortening? I struggle with that the most, and my anatomy class the previous year brushed past it with no shame lol.

Last gesture set for the day. These were a bit of a frustrating exercise for some reason. I plan to revisit all of these references in a year to see how much I've improved with, to compare with this year's.

I like the lines/arcs/cirles training! I think you should try to draw with just one line - it's good training for your hand (especially drawing looong lines)

Long time no post lol. I've been drawing everyday still, but incorporated more nude gesture drawings. I'll go back to the action poses too,but I felt I needed to go to nude references a little bit.
