Mathias' Sketchbook - Here I go

    Hello guys!

Sooo, after some years of lurking I finally dare push myself to join the drawing and sketchbooks here.
I'm gonna try to post at least one drawing every day, starting today. And saying that here will definitely help push me! So here we go.

I'm currently 21 years old and I'm on my first year on a computer science bachelor. After I've completed this I'm going to apply for an art school and hope to get in there.

I've bought Bert Dodon's "Keys to Drawing" and Andrew Loomis' "Drawing the Head and Hands", so I'll probably post stuff I've done from those books and some other stuff now in the beginning.

Comments & critique are very welcome and wanted!

Here's two I did just now.
One's of the guy from Blade Runner, and the other one is from the first Final Fantasy movie. The latter is particularly bad, haha.

    Thanks, man

Here's a wip digital one I'm working on. And some exercises from the book I'm reading!
If anyone has a good tutorial on how to get his beard well, instead of just shading it in or drawing every hair on his face that'd be awesome as well.

Here are some gesture drawings I tried doing today! First time I've tried some with Posemaniacs' app.
Definitely gonna have to do lots more of these to get those postures looking good and nice

So I "finished" my John Carter painting. It is far from perfect, but not as horrible as I thought it would be!
Crits and comments would be great
This is what I went off, by the way

keep doing what you are doing, but don't forget to put studies of your basics first. Get your lines more confident by doing those basics.

I got a bit sidetracked visiting the US and other stuff
No excuse is good enough, but I've been working a bit. About to start on Vilppus Drawing Manual and properly learn gesture drawing.
Only thing I have to show now is these two digitals I've been playing with. One is of the Blademaster Orc from Warcraft, the other is my sister and her bf, which I'm not finished with yet. I know it looks pretty bad certain places. And the orcs feet.. ugh. God damn them
