Does anyone hold their pen in a "Non-typical" way?

I never really payed attention to the way people hold pencils and I guess someone never taught me how to hold it "right" when I was a child. I hold mine with 3 fingers. Like in the picture but sometimes, based on mood, I will loosen or tighten the grip. I'm interested in changing the grip since I have nothing else in my life to do, I've been interchanging between my grip and the more loose grip in the other picture. Has anyone else done something similar?

I hold spare pens and pencils and brushes in my toes, does that count?

I'm a lefty and my retarded way of holding a pen doesn't seem to stop baffling people. I kinda twist my hand clockwise until it is effectively drawing upside-down. I have a really lousy grip anyways. I grip it by the neck. Need to work on that.

Well, how do you hold your pen? Do you think its worth changing the way I hold my pen, maybe something like this http://i.imgur.com/g46Fc17.jpg could train my hand to hold it the normal way but these are for children and it probably isn't going to work for me.

Why bother? Unless it's causing some permanent physical damage, which i highly, highly doubt, what's the point in changing it? Holding a pencil "correctly" isn't going to make you draw better. I never learned to tie my shoes correctly and I wouldn't change it now -- my shoes stay on and I tie them as quickly as everybody else, so why bother?

If you want to change something you're doing incorrectly, work on sitting up straight. Slouching does cause damage

Same, I pretty much use the same position to draw as you described.

i always imagined lefthanders would write/draw that way to avoid smearing, what they freshly put down and still beeing able to rest their hand on the paper. all i noticed to be lefthanders wrote that way.

I hold pens like in the first picture but I don't arch my had that much towards me, never had issues, lack of control/overcontrol or pain because of that. If it works, it works.

When drawing lines I tend to hold it like you do on the picture.
But when I practice my shading the back of the pencil is usually under my hand instead of above. This gives the head a more flat surface to shade
Don't know why I do it like this though
