    Hush, little child, don't be afraid;
    As shadows twist and mind plays tricks;
    Won't you please come out to play;
    Not real screams, you're imagining things;
    Find what was hidden by the light of day;
    These nightmares are real, only in your mind;
    How slowly time ticks, when you're held by pixi tricks.

    Hey Guys! What the heck I'm entering too, here's my WIP. Could anybody help me with the face I just cant seem to get it right, I wan her to be a little child. What do you think of her pose and anatomy is it off?
    I know children have bigger eyes proportionately than adults but the angle i chose for her head is just a nightmare for me to figure out right now.

    Child faces are quite more difficult, Andrew Loomis' Drawing the Head and Hands, goes over this and the proportions for all ages. Right now, how I see it, you have an adult's head attached to a small body. Your best bet is to look for reference online.

    Yeah it looked like an adult's head....
    I didn't realize Loomis went through that in his book. Thank you!

    CHOW time!
    I admit there's not much research behind these beside some facial and outfit reference, but I'm just having fun with this one despite having some horribly broken\twisted anatomy. I'm thinking glowing lava tattos and exploding stuff for the next update, maybe some clothing xD.

    Hey Havok thanks for the tip again, Your WIP is looking great man, I love the detail in the hands!
    There's one thing that bugs me though, the color of her top just doesn't work with the other colors you've laid down. You were picking complimentary colors cyan/blue and red/yellow then you picked green. That makes the green stand out like he doesn't belong.
    I hope that helps Sorry if I am coming off as rude.

    No, you didn't sound rude at all I agree, though, I will have to do something else with it. I haven't worked on it since that last post so there is plenty of room for change. I was using a reference photo of these Hawaiian girls wearing those colors and and outfit. But seeing how the skin on my design isn't a nice bronze color, I will have to change the top to something else. buuuuut I'm not sure of what...And I don't want to do a coconut bra

    Anyway, about your head. The face still seems adult like. It's kind of hard to tell with the current color. I think MAYBE, the size of the bridge of the nose is too big? For a child at the age you are depicting, you want the head to be a little more round. But at that angle, it will be quite difficult to get that right. Google "child face" and really look at their face shapes. They look a little more pudgy with baby fat. Their noses are small, more round and button like.

    @Lionsketch: Well, we need to see more human. The 3/4 rule kind of enforces that. right now you only have half a body.

    [UPDATE]

    I went in and did a quick hue/sat change. How does this color work with it? I think keeping a hint of green in there while the light from the lava/her make of the rest of the color works well with it. Thoughts? Should I push the color more? I still need to actually finish the upper part so it doesn't look quickly drawn in there.

    I was concerned crazy fire lady didn't seem Hawaiian enough so I kinda stuck some tatoos on her.
    Coloring will be done shortly!
    Does she strike y'all as Hawaiian at all?

    Well you need to ask your self, what defines the Hawaiian culture? Even though tattoos are popular among Hawaii, they aren't really a "signature" trait. Do some research on the culture and try to fit it into your design.

    I haven't drawn humans in a long time so I'm struggling a bit. I would be grateful for any critique or anatomy help.

    I'm really enjoying looking at everyone's WIPs so far! Looking great, everyone!

    i don't think i'll have time to complete this for the challenge, but i will hopefully be able to work on it soon at least for my own personal piece. if you can't tell she's shooting out a volcano crater, with the help of lava.

    I would actually say those tattoos look more aboriginal than Hawaiian to be honest. I would look into tribal tattoos of Hawaii and Samoa for inspiration and maybe include native Hawaiian flowers or something if you don't want to use traditional dress to show her origins. Hope that helps

    @Philipopotamus: The chin & neck area is a bit too defined. Kids are basically just fat people, with giant foreheads, and small features. And it may just be me, but I think the arms are a bit too long.

    Missmeowsikins- thanks, i tend to get carried away and render one part more than the others, which is a habit im trying to get out of

    Loving the designs guys, some lovely lava rendering. I have not had much time lately but still trying to finish this one, really struggling with the face though.
