The team behind the independent video game Xenonauts (http://www.xenonauts.com) is looking for an artist to paint some of the aliens in our game. This is quite a big project, likely about 20 paintings in all, each at 1040 x 650px in size.
The art is to be used on the research screen of our games; there are ten aliens and each will need to be painted alive (in a holding tank) and dead, in the middle of an autopsy / dissection by human scientists (so showing internal organs etc). There is a mix of biological and robotic, so the artist should be capable of both.
Each of the aliens has already been designed, modelled in 3D in Maya, and has colours and concepts already set. An example of the concepts would be this image: http://www.xenonauts.com/devimages/Andron_concept.jpg (the original image is higher-res).
We're looking for someone with a clear and crisp art style who can paint those images. A paintover of the Maya model would also be acceptable, provided it can be done to sufficiently high quality that it does not look like a paintover.
EDIT - we've now closed this ad and are looking through all the submissions. Thanks to everyone who applied!
