Jeffrey Alan Love Fantasy & Sci-Fi Portfolio

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I posted here, since graduating from TAD's Career Mentorship Program I've been working as a freelance editorial illustrator for clients like The New York Times, The Washington Post, High Times, and other magazines and newspapers. I've also been teaching as adjunct faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University. A year and a half into my freelance career I realized that my portfolio didn't reflect the work that I wanted to be doing - I've always dreamed of doing fantasy book covers, and while I love doing editorial work my heart will always belong to imaginative fantasy art. This year I'm building my fantasy/sci-fi portfolio, attending Illuxcon in September, and will begin promoting this work in the next few months as I work towards realizing that dream. I hope you enjoy the work as much as I have enjoyed creating it.

id lose the one with the hands cupping the ship, it looks like it was done by a different much less skilled person. the others are really nice, im reading book 4 of the Dark Tower atm and the vibe is right on!

True, the one with the ship is not the best here, but still, those are greate, dark and intriguing pieces of works.

Velocity - thanks for the critical eye. The ship piece was the first one I made, and it shows. Your portfolio is only as good as your worst piece, so it's out!

Biglebowsky - Thanks, dark and intriguing is what I'm after!

Here's a new one, inspired by the Night Angel trilogy written by Brent Weeks.

The very first two images have both a nice illustrative/loose textured feel and solid graphic design/layout.
    These IMO are your strengths.

The cupping the ship one is the weakest. I agree with Velocity Kendall.
