Unfinished jester type thing. Critiques & any advice please

So out of boredom I ended up doing this jester thing and I kind of built it up overtime, I know it wasn't planned but like I say I didn't plan doing anything with it so I didn't plan it, heck hope that makes sense. Anyway, I know the rendering is shoddy and the anatomy & lighting leaves much to be desired, is there any other critiques or advice anyone can offer? To me, aside from technical aspects it seems to be missing something, I don't know what. Just so you know I'm building up a reference board now that I'm hoping to finish it, I know it's abit late. I'm not sure if it's worth finishing, I'll let you guys be the judge of that.

Please take in to consideration my words above.

    Thank you.

PS- you can ignore the feet if you like, I really suck at them so I will be working big time on them!

I don't know why, but I find this extremely beautiful. I can't wait to see it finished.

Quick update. I tried to add more form to her body. The shading has very shoddy and muddy blending, I need to fix that. I added an overlay and put in some colours, not permanent but just wanted to realise how I wanted it to look. I think the image in general is a bit plain, I was thinking of adding onto her clothes so she stands out from the plain background. The more I look at her back leg, it seems it's a little too long or maybe the angle of her ankle isn't correct, no?

I don't have any advice because I am a beginner, just wanted to comment saying how much I love this, this is amazing!
(Sorry if I'm not allowed to comment without giving any critique!)

Thank you Nusku & Mohq for the encouragement, glad you like it, just wish I knew how to make it better and make it look finished. Well I have a face I did that I'm having trouble on, having difficulty with the lips, she has this weird pouting thing going on, bare in mind it is unfinished. Maybe this might be easier to critique as opposed to the jester. Thank you.

Why does it look so messier in colour and why can't I manage to get a 'finished look'? Anybody?

You aren't calculating the shadows, you are just guessing them.

Break the form into planes, that will give you a clue on what angle each of them is in relation to the light direction, and that will let you pick the correct value for it. Figure out the falling shadow, too.
