Heya!
Fairly new to the site, only discovered it last month through some quiet lurking and surfing, which is what I do best. It's not the only thing that I wish to excel in, hence my presence. I'm amazed at the depth and scope of this forum and want to take advantage of the vast library of resources waiting to be explored.
Don't really want to bore you with the same story as most people are here for and hold to empty promises to lie to myself with. I live in the USA, I have been doing Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu for two years, and it is because of learning the application of self-discipline and that actions speak more than words, I'm just going to do. So, I hope I posted in the right section to start off, and I suppose my next step would be to start a sketchbook. I'd love to get some guidance regardless. I've transformed my room into a studio/office, and have written some long term, short term goals the past month getting ready to put my nose to the grindstone and practice my ass off, picking up from where I left off in high school AP Fine Arts, if I have even retained something! I'm at a crossroad in my life, and my biggest dream is to publish graphic novels. A guy can dream and do, I've learned from my mentor.
I love character designs the most, and have grown up in solitude playing video games and reading comics/graphic novels/mangas with iconic characters that had an impact on me and my appreciation for art in its various forms.
Movies like Ninja Scroll and Princess Mononoke also have made a difference for me as I've marveled at it while harboring some strange desire to create and inspire from it. And I've put that desire off for too long.
I'm here to learn, grow and to make friends along the way hopefully!
