Kotes Sketchbook

Hi!
My name is Kári and my goal is to become a concept artist atleast before the age of 23 :)
I'll turn 15 2nd of July and I'm from Iceland.

I made this sketchbook mainly because I want to improve at drawing and digital painting at the most :)
I'm going to try to upload as many things on my sketchbook and hopefully get some good critic and advice and who knows,
maybe I'll improve and learn new things on my way! :)

I'm still learning on the site so if anything is off track, please let me know :)

I did some anatomy studies with reference from some anatomy book I found at my school, can't remember the name though,
I also did one illustration so you can see where I am

It would be awesome if you can give me any advice and some critic if you'd like!

This is supposed to be John Watson from Sherlock BBC but it's not that alike, nice face i think though!

I like the arm but the foo is weird, especially the toes

Seems you are on the right track. Think the arm is pretty correct. Not 100% sure about the leg (but what do I know about anatomy?!). The foot need some more work as you stated yourself, but I am pretty sure you will get there long before you turn 23!

These are great studies so far, much better than I was doing when I was 14!

I think the resemblance of Watson is there in the portrait you did of him. Keep practicing and you'll be fine!

Some more great studies. One thing to watch is your proportions though, with your caped figure I think his head is too small compared to his body, and the leg in your latest post is out as well, the calf appears to be a little short. Don't worry about the notes being in Icelandic! As long as they're helping you it's fine

I'm starting to get a little into anatomy though it's not my favorite choice of drawing, my friend gave me the tip to do it and said it helped very much

So I learned a lesson few days ago.

If I don't draw for atleast 5 days I will lose interest in drawing a bit, which can only mean..
I will be trying to update this sketchbook every other day

I've failed to see that critic is ridiculously important for improvement so I'm looking forward to getting some advice

Anywho,

I did these four drawings here and they looked quite good..mostly trying to learn to draw value and light

The one with the guy in the robes is my favorite and I think I captured the light and shadows pretty good. If there are any flaws please let me know.

Soo...I tried life drawing in digital. My opinion is that it's pretty awesome considering I'm an absolute beginner in digital painting

If you keep spilling out studies and ideas, 8 years will turn you into a great artist and a great concept artist when you hit 23. When it comes to concept art, it's all about ideas, anyone can learn the technical side to art, what people want to see is your ideas. And you are doing a good job getting those ideas out. Well done.
