    Help on continuing... (Beginner)

So here's something I worked on today, was wondering if you fine people could give me some advice on where to take this and if possible, how?... the statue is suppose to be like an angel with a city on the top. Needs stronger lights in it for a start anyway.

    thanking youuu!

You also need to go out a paint some real landscapes, preferably with water and observe how the land reflects on water surface. There's no clue to any city, and if it was on that ridge, it'll be too high for a focal point the way the composition is laid out currently. Loose the textures from photos - they are seriously doing you no favours and are not a short cut to learning how to draw the stuff.

Black Spot is, of course, right. Nothing looks realistic in your image...no reflections on the water, the saturations are weird, the shapes don't look natural, etc. BUT the thing that bothered me the most eluded me until I looked again at the thumbnail: the vanishing lines that should be defining the perspective in your piece simply don't agree with each other. This is especially profound when you compare the land masses on the left and right. The green land mass has a completely different horizon line.

Would you like to see my drawr-rings?

Will design for food, provided that we all agree that money is edible.

i started to mess with this but got distracted by skype, but my basic point was stuff tends to be really flat toward the horizon. if you want a sense of space anyway.

haha dont worry everyone gets that, i bet even the pro masters get it, its good i think (hope)

a quick basic thing you might do is flatten everything and see how it goes, or look at some photos of coastal buildings, like big offshort airports and harbours and oil plants..
