Hello!
I've been working on the following image for awhile now and I just can't seem to get his arms right. I really want to emphasis the manliness in this guy, but can't seem to get the form right. Can anybody give me some advice?

I'm having trouble imagining what this armor looks like in 3D space. There isn't enough grounding in real-world armor to make it believable. What are those shoulder pads made out of? Why are they asymmetrical? How thick are the shoulder pads? What does his helmet look like from behind? Why is it open so high on the sides and/or back?
The current shoulder pads look like they might be digging into the trapezius. Did you draw out the entire figure before you put the armor on top? Are you allocating enough volume for his body, padding, and the thickness of the armor?

You have done a full color, detailed version of the picture and NOW you are asking about structure and lighting? You should have bothered about that on the sketch stage.
Remember, sketches are cheap. Paintings are expensive. Figure out and fix things early, to avoid tons of unnecessary work fixing the finished painting.
