    Laggtastic's Sketchbook & Artworks

    Hey everyone,

I'm Maikel, better known as Laggtastic here on the web
Currently I'm 20 years old, and I'm interested in 2D and 3D art.

I found this site today, and after browsing some around I was amused,
and decided to join aswell Not that I'm an excellent artist, but I'm trying to get more into concept art and illustration.
I used to draw cars from reference, but since about a year I started a study for game art, so now I try to expand my skills to create my own creatures, landscapes, vehicles...anything.

Allright enough talking, let's start off with a landscape speedpaint=)
I hope you like it, comments are welcome!Name: fantasycastle.png

I hope I added this new images the correct way lol...
Anyways...to continue my sketchbook here, I think it's time to actually SHOW what I used to do,
and make clear what the difference is.

I used to draw cars, like that Yellow Mustang in the attachment.
I allways asked the photo-owner if I had permission to use it, and also got the permission most of times.

Nowadays, I try to design my own stuff freehand. Sometimes I check the internet for references, but I tend to let my brain & fantasy do most of the work. In the attachments below with exception of the Mustang, you see some of the sketches I made to train myself to get better in creating my own stuff.

    Comments are welcome!=)

    i love that mustang!

your other pieces look nice too but i suggest to study with reference in the beginning.
you'll learn so much just by studying all kinds of things and your imagination will get much more creative. try to understand the subject / object that you are drawing, dont just copy it.

    oh, and ALWAYS HAVE FUN!

Thanks a lot for the comment!
Well for the arm-anatomy sketch I did use a reference, but I shall try to work more with references then.

Anyways...to update my gallery somewhat, some more works that I made a while back. I shall only upload the decent works...otherwise this page would be filled up with crappy sketches haha...
