    AndrewToth`s Sketchbook.

    Hy There!

I`ve been lurking on the sketchbook thread for quite a long time now, and i was amazed by the improvement some people had in their threads. So i decided to make my own in hope to get some motivation and inspiration from you guys and hopefully get my skills to the next level.

    So, lets get started.
I bought my first tablet last year mid november, and thats the point where i started forcing myself to draw as much as i can.
Here are a couple of pieces i made, mostly from reference.

    Time to make an update

Here`s a couple of painting studies i made at the weekend. I really like the rough look paintings have, so expect more in the future.

Comments and constructive critiques are more than welcome.

The first one is a piece by Pino.

Overtoom: Thank you! Hopefully more pages will come with better work.
lionheartGFX: Thank you for your comment. My brushwork is something that i`m not happy with. Thats why i`m making those painting studies. I`m hoping to get my brushwork more expressive with time.

Started a "quick" nude study on the weekend. So after three days(yep quick right?) of constant tweaking it turned out like this.

The major forms are reading, i`m not happy with the rest of it, but i`m calling it done anyway. Turned it 90 degrees CCW to make it a bit more interesting.

    What do you guys think?

Self note: Next time work with higher resolution and your brushes will not pixelate.

Thank you EduM, hopefully there will be more and beter stuff in this sketchbook.

So lately i was working on my anatomy skills. I was pretty happy with this one... until i finished it. Now all i can see are mistakes. But thats probably part of the learning curve. Identifiing your mistakes and working on them. Next up, more anatomy i guess.

Self Note: working with textured brushes is fun, also it gives more visual interest to the eyes.

Very nice start. The studies are great. That being said, try to figure out where you want to go with your art, that will give you a general idea, a path to take. For instance if you wanna go for concept art, you'll need to work on your imagination work etc.
    My journey

“I’ve just neverbeen good at drawing _____, so I never draw ______.” This is a circular logic offailure that a person will never escape. If you wish you were better at drawing _______, draw it!
If you aren’t very good at _______, and avoid it, you’ll never getbetter at drawing _______! This attitude is setting yourself up for a lifetime of nevergetting good and enjoying _____.
