Welcome aboard! I hope you like it here. ^^ I'm eager to see more, but from what I see now it's clear you've got the jist of things. As for unclear, maybe refine your painted edges a bit? The portrait in particular is a tad fuzzy. But yeah, more more more~ : ) Excellent start so far!
Hey Dizzysun. Thanks for the advice =]. I am trying to figure out how to refine my edges at the moment. I am new to everything digital so it is going to take some experimentation. Thanks again ^^
And now just posting two failed colour studies and a portrait study from another artist (Trying to develop a painting process). Back to my studies now though.
No problem! ^^ For more refined edges, you could try using a harder brush setting. This can be done by either upping the opacity and or flow. Also try going into brush settings (I assume you use photoshop? ) and adjusting the spacing of your brush, it will produce smoother results. Just play around really. : ) I really like the man in the last post, btw! Keep on chugging, you're getting the hang of it!
I only realized I was using a oft brush. I'm an idiot <.< .. Thanks for the help Dizzy =], you're making this a lot less stressful for me ^_^.
I done a few studies but they were done pretty bad and I know where I went wrong so I am not going to upload them, I will just upload some gestures and a WIP that I will try finish tomorrow.

Soooo.. I think I am getting used to photoshop. Just some experiments with brushes. And something I decided to start working on =].

Hey man, thanks for stopping by my sketchbook, really digging your stuff; love your loose lines and lighting! Enjoy CA!

My (currently) terrible sketchbook
Hey, thank you for stopping byYou're making good progress here, definitely post more - I suggest increasing the saturation on your colours to define features more, in reference to post #3
Glad to see you take the advice really well, keep at it!
Hey Thistleborn, thanks for popping in. Looks forward to seeing more of your stuff =]. Thanks for the advice Magentis. I will defiantly start pushing the saturation, I kept keeping to they grays and clearly just made it look flat.
Just gonna port some digital stuff I tried to push out today. I would post my traditional work too but I lack a camera. Anyways, just a weird concept design that did not work, a figure study and some of the WIP I posted earlier. Giving up on it, seems to be going nowhere. Also, photoshop fucked up the image size on me and I had to save it on Flickr, save it again and lost alot of quality <.<

I done a bunch of stuff including a still life but they came out horribly. Plus the light for my still life went after 45 minutes so it went horribly unfinished. So here is a half hour figure just to make up for it.

Great stuff! You have a really good eye for color, though the light/shadow areas are sometimes not quite consistent (got better in the recent posts in comparison to the first ones though). Think about where your light is coming from and what it can and can't reach. Maybe do a handful of paintings where you only use a highlight, midtone and shadow color without blending anything to establish the forms (like in cellshading, which honestly helped me a lot with that)![]()
Please take a look at my Sketchbook! <- Comments are highly appreciated and returned C:
Hi, Heyriel, your criticism is really appreciated, I'll certainly do some of those exercises you recommended [=.
Incoming bad perspective sketches, just trying to do things from my imagination. I am doing contour exercises in my sketchbook and trying to create a visual library, just so you know I am doing my studies [=

Fat lady on toilet for the win!
If there is one thing I've learned on this site it is that to improve you have to practice by working from ref. and imagination and you seem
to do a good bit of both! And it looks like it is paying off. All that painted stuff looks very nice bro!
And also, thank you for taking to time to comment in my sketchbook.![]()
Hey Staal Sander, thanks for dropping byeI really appreciate that ^^ I'll probably drop by too see some updates from you soon =].
Thought I would throw this in before I went to bed, just a late night study. Unfinshed ;-;
Hey V3T,
I like the sketches in post #12, It's really a good thing that you're drawing from imagination!
The things you've learned from photostudies will stick and become a second nature if you apply them in sketches from imagination.
Your proportions look pretty accurate to me (just in the last post, she has an ultra long arm :p)
Also, If you're shading digitally, try to use layers and masks to keep sharp edges.
Keep at it! and thanks for the kind words in my sb! :p
Edit: i just saw your work in a drawthread on /ic/, haha, what a coincidence!

Hey Jarkuzy, thanks for popping in =] And thanks for the advice, I am gonna study masking to get them edges right ^^, you are right about her arm, I forgot to erase and flesh it out properlly before saving it <.< Looks kind of like a tentacle. Always nice to meet a fellow d/ic/k![]()
I done a bunch of head studies and a portrait study but it ended up looking like a train wreck so I won't bother posting it. I started a Master study but it has not been going well, I'll post the WIP but I can't see it going well <.<

Just posting a head study that went wrong. Nothing much to post, I done a couple of environment studies that came out miserably, I'll keep trying though. Some day I'll be decent at this... Oh, also, I decided to upload an exercise I was recommended to do.

I tried doing a bunch of thumbnails and ended up with these two sketches, I am gonna try put the things I have learned into it, light perspective, anatomy etc, so let's hope for the best, but right now it is 4 in the morning and I need my rest. Crits appreciated.

Just gonna post these here.. An update on that sketch I did. Done so badly with it so I am not gonna waste anymore time with it. A leg study. And a painting study of Batman =].

Some figga! drawings. I'll do some more, mainly for the Spartan thread. And some anatomy ^^

Gestures and a Batman. I screwed up the photo upload so I gotta re upload <.<

The start of a Frank Frazetta study before sleep (It's 4A.M). I love his work, I have one of his books and made it my goal to study all of his works in it =]

I think you are much better than you give yourself credit for. Stop being so hard on yourself! It takes time to learn new things!![]()
I really like your chick on the toilet sketch. I hope you paint it, and refine it. I think it's hilarious! haha.
I really like the amount of detail that you put in the anatomy drawings in #25. Great job!
Hey Adrienne, thanks for that, I am just a big baby I suppose :3
I don't even know why I drew it o_O I just needed something to be there so I could draw it in perspective, I don't have the file anymore to do anything with it sadly, sorry =[.
Thank you ^_^. Expect me on your sketchbook =].
Hands feet and an update =] (I hate hands, makes me wanna cut my own off in frustration, tricky little things <.<)
