    woman with trident in water.

So my friend wanted me to draw him a dnd character for him. The only information is she is a japanese water goddess with a trident, and wears mostly blue.

i told him it would be bad, but he did not care.

i am taking this as an opportunity to do a full composition. Practice is practice, no?

here is my thumbnail for the composition, i am thinking one more vertical element.

I already know i will have to pull in more orange highlights, since that is how these things work

Just want to know if the composition is working? probably not, but that is how we learn.

Try doing about 10-20 more thumbnails and experiment with composition. There are much more dynamic ways to depict this scene. Don't worry about color yet either it will just slow you down.
