Coming up in summer, January 2013, will be TWO WEEKS, count'em...
TWO, crammed full of amazing presenters from around the world!!!

Kicking off week 1 will be Khang Le (CEO & CD of Adhesive Games),
Mike Yamada & Victoria Ying (Visual Development artists at
Dreamworks & Walt Disney Animation), and Brian Wynia
(Senior Character artist at Sony Santa Monica)!

The Saturday Workshop will be a WHOLE day with the amazing
Ben Mauro from WETA Workshop, NZ. This will be Ben's third
workshop presentation, and we know from experience, attendees
simply can't get enough of his Z-Brush demonstrations!!!

Week 2 will be presented by Jaime Jones (Film Concept artist
at Warner Brothers), Simon Scales (Concept Artist and CDW
Founder) and a "mystery artist", to be confirmed shortly.

This year, we are also launching a new PORTFOLIO REVIEW DAY,
on the middle sunday - an incredible opportunity to spend 15 minutes
with the Workshop instructors and other industry professionals and get
some one-on-one feedback about your portfolio!!

workshop will be held in the brand new CDW Studios, Lvl 3,
MYER Centre Adelaide in Rundle Mall.

DIGITAL PAINTING TECHNIQUES FOR GAMES
with KHANG LE
9.00am - 12.00pm, Week 1, Jan 21st-25th

Khang Le starts off the week delving into the world of visual direction
for video game production. Khang is currently the CEO/Creative
Director of Adhesive Games - project HAWKEN ring any bells!
He has worked for a number of different studios in his career, including
Sony, Intel & Microsoft, and has worked on many different games and
feature films. In his spare time, Khang also lectures at the Concept Design
Academy in LA, and has found time in his busy schedule to come down and join
us in Jan. Covering everything from digital painting, mech & vehicle design
and environment design, Khang will share his tips and techniques,
and is sure to inspire all!

VISUAL DEVELOPMENT FOR ANIMATION
with MIKE YAMADA & VICTORIA YING
12.30pm - 3.30pm, Week 1, Jan 21st-25th

Leading off the midday bonanza is tag team Mike Yamada
and Victoria Ying. Mike is a Visual Development Artist
at Dreamworks, LA. He has worked on a number of animated film
projects including Kung Fu Panda 2, How to Train your Dragon &
Puss in Boots just to name some names, and has worked on
a number of game projects throughout his career.

Victoria is a Visual Development Artist at Walt Disney Animation
Studios, LA. She has been involved in a number of animated films
and features including Tangled & Tangled Ever After, and has worked
with a number of game studios. Along with their own range of exciting
products, projects and childrens books (all done in their spare time),
Victoria and Mike will be joining us to explore the world of animated
films and pre-production, touching on topics from characters,
environment design and props.

ZBRUSH CHARACTER AND SCULPTING
with BRYAN WYNIA
3.45pm - 6.45pm, Week 1, Jan 21st-25th

Bryan Wynia is our third act for the week showcasing and sharing
his skills in Zbrush. Bryan is currently a Senior Character Artist
at Sony Santa Monica. Along with freelancing for a number of well
known studios including Naughty Dog, jim Henson's Creature Shop,
Aaron Sims and Masked Avenger, Bryan has taught various classes and
workshops at CG Society, Gnomon and The Concept Design Academy.
Joining us in Jan to spread his knowledge, Bryan will go through the
techniques and processes he uses in Zbrush to create his awesome
creature and character designs. Silhouettes, anatomy, forms, gestures,
sculpting and development are just the icebreakers!

SCULPTING IN ZBRUSH FOR CONCEPT ARTISTS

Ben Mauro highlights our special Saturday workshop - a showcase of
Zbrush skills!! Ben currently works at WETA Workshop in New Zealand.
Working for a number of amazing studios before joining WETA (including
LucasFim, Activision & Universal Pictures), Ben still freelances in his spare
time while working on a number of big blockbuster films and games!!
Adelaide CDW will be Ben's third return to one of our workshops - We just
can't get enough!! Headlining our special one-day event, Ben will show us
how to rapidly create realistic character concepts for a modern film
pipeline - nothing like a bit of hands on WETA genius!!

Jaime Jones will be kicking off as our first presenter for week 2 of
Adelaide CDW! Jaime is currently a film concept artist at Warner Brothers.
Having worked for a number of different studios and on a number of project's
including Halo, Guild Wars and Superman Reboot, Jaime will be joining us
for a session in Photoshop. Sharing the tools and processes he uses to
capture realistic lighting and imagery - composition, lighting and storytelling
added with the core painting principles will make his session's not to be missed!!

Aaron Beck will be delving into the world of vehicle, mech and weapon
designs! Aaron is currently a Senior Concept Artist at WETA Workshop.
Currently working on some exciting, up and coming blockbusters, he has
previously worked on films such as Avatar and District 9. Joining us for
the second time, Aaron will explore shape, design and functionality of
vehicle, mech and weapon designs - it will knock your socks off!

Last, but by no means least, Simon Scales will be presenting environment
designs for games. Simon is not only the founder of CDW and CDW Studios,
but also maintains a thriving freelance career in game concept design and
matte painting. Previously a children's book illustrator's, Simon has worked
for LEGO, THQ (DeBlob 2) and other studios and companies. Thumbnails,
lighting, brushes, shape design - Simon has a packed out set of sessions
with some matte painting techniques to top it off!
