Hey cdrfuzz! You really should work on your use light in combination of color. Ask yourself how the light of the sky effects the planes of the cow/the man that are facing up? How does it effect the colors of those areas? How does the reflected light of the grass and the flowers effect the color of the cow? All the colours of that szenerie are effecting each other and you need to consider that in your rendering to sue the diffrent elements of your work together to one pice. Give a look at "Color and Light" by James Gurney. I just got it as a christmas present and I think that book would maybe help also you a lot. Happy new year!
