Custom Shape question

I have a few questions on custom shapes. Ive seen alot of digital painters use these and are able to make pretty fast paintings with them...

so I want to be able to use and manipulate custom shapes fast... to make compositions pretty quick

1. Is there a way to fill in a selection with custom shapes?
2. Can I use custom shapes without creating a new " shape layer " everytime one is used?
3. Is there a fast way to apply custom shapes?


throughout this thread sparth goes over how to paint with custom shapes... but his english is a little broken and he misses some explanations .

are these just custom shapes that were made into custom brushes? I want the brushes to be crisp and sharp ( vector shapes ).

i am also wondering how to get, like, copletely sharp, vector like brushes.

When you've selected the Custom Shape tool, you can choose whether it creates a path, a shape layer (solid color with vector mask), or just pixels. It's in the option bar, at the upper left.

Is there a particular reason you can't read the Photoshop Help and tutorials that comes with Photoshop?

I LiveStream on Tuesdays and Thursdays and would be happy to do a demo for you on using the pen tool to create shapes, how to manipulate them, add/subtract to/from them and other fun tips and tricks.
