So, I just started my Sketchbook, it's nice to be surrounded by fellow artists and soon-to-be-artists!

The main purpose of this sketchbook is ofcourse to improve my drawing/painting/modelling skills, so feel free to comment and put some critique on my work!

    Let's Start with some oldies,

These drawings are all from my years in art school ( i did publications and that sort of things ) I also have lots of still life and model paintings from in class, but those are all lost in some box =P

So here you go my drawings!

Again, feel free to comment! Ill add some Drawing and paintings from my recent activities later!

I like your carriage. I have a suggestion about it though. In design you will often hear about this concept called the rule of thirds, which is that most of your detail should be concentrated into one third of your subject. You may want to try this with your carriage. Choose the top, or the bottom or the front and move as much of your detail to one side. Right now the detail is spread pretty uniformly. The result is that it is hard to know what to look at. Best of luck

Those thumbnails are great. Is it too late to add some vertical elements to the final design? I really enjoyed that aspect in the first few thumbnails. Either way nice work :]
"A drawing is not necessarily academic because it is thorough, but only because it is dead. Neither is a drawing necessarily academic because it is done in what is called a conventional style, any more than it is good because it is done in an unconventional style. The test is whether it has life and conveys genuine feeling."- Harold Speed

Good stuff so far, i like the carriage although the I'm not a fan of the wheels. They feel too bumpy to me.
Would like to see more drawings and studies in here; consistency is really important
    My journey

“I’ve just neverbeen good at drawing _____, so I never draw ______.” This is a circular logic offailure that a person will never escape. If you wish you were better at drawing _______, draw it!
If you aren’t very good at _______, and avoid it, you’ll never getbetter at drawing _______! This attitude is setting yourself up for a lifetime of nevergetting good and enjoying _____.

Thanks for the advice, The wheels are made out of roots and are mainly for rough terrain so thats why they look so bumpy.
I know what you mean, but I dont really know an extra solution on the wheels, Maybe just make the outside round but keep the inner roots ?

    Again thanks for the advice!

Hey, this is a great sketchbook. I like the clean perspective feel in the three scenes at the bottom of your first post, and those tattoo designs are really cool.

I like the idea of the carriage but agree that the wheels don't look quite right. If it's mostly for off-road/rough terrain, what about making them wider/fatter? That way, you can keep the knobbly edges for grip but have a flatter section round the middle for stability. If that makes sense? Just thinking about 4x4's and how they usually have pretty fat wheels with knubbly tyres. Gives the best of both worlds - good grip and lots of stability and fun sliding ability.
