So many great enteries .... here is mine with a short descp .... The assasin comes from a Clan called Death maulers they take in children at a very young age and train them to become assasins .As per the clans tradition the mouth of the children are swen .This grewsome practive ensures the children will learn to obey orders without questions ...

    Awesome works everyone!
This is my first sketch attempt for the goblin assassin. Don't really know what I'm doing here. Is it too churchy and too little assassin?
Was kind of thinking church to be sort of natural power behind the throne and thinking of doing this bishop-kind of assassin that shows only a glimpse of what's hidden in his robe. Anyways my first try at chow, don't know if I'll get it finished, as I'm so slow. But there's just something about goblins that I can't resist..

Thanks for being understanding about it and for being patient with us. We are still trying to get the swing of things to avoid problems in the future.

fdisk - Thanks for the critique man, I found it very helpful. I see what you mean about the sense of scale when looking at your second wip, I actually completely forgot that goblins were meant to be typically short lol. So yeah, I tried fixing that perspective + scale issue in mine. Thanks again man!

Mods: I have a huge favor to ask; could you guys please move this post and use it as my final entry? I'm taking my wife out of town this weekend for a much needed away weekend and I will not have access to a computer to post the finals with. Pretty please?!

Here're some thoughts from me, sorry they're a bit late in the challenge. Got tied up with work yesterday.

Gautham, yeah, I think you're right; I should've done a bit of a more athletic stance. (I tried to kick his leg out a bit further to give a wider base) Should've done more sketching first! Looking forward to more of yours.
Craig Paton, he's not screaming assassin to me at the moment, I think it's something to do with his long robe, it looks a bit restrictive. I'm getting more warrior/executioner vibes. I love the rendering, it's gorgeous.
Paperhead, I think the proportions look a bit heroic to be a goblin; maybe a bigger head might make him look a little smaller. Good design though.
SimianSmash, great stuff. The background adds a lot of context.
    Jager, Love the fro!
Fdisk, That sketch of the goblin is brilliant. Tonnes of character. Maybe in the render you could lighten the background to pop him out a little more.

Anyways, loads of good entrys, here's mine, final I think...

    Update...

Tomercs - Looking good, like the rendering and tattooing on the upper body and face. The cloak over his right shoulder (dagger holding arm) looks like it might come out a bit far at the top, just trying to think where his shoulder would be. Love your blurb
Paperhead - Great looking character, apart from the ears he doesn't make me think goblin straight away though through a sense of scale or characteristics.
chevy28360 - Hope you get some of the character that's in your sketch through to the painting.
    fdisk - Great character
Graig Paton - Fab take on a gobin, looks menacing and calculating.
Jager - Lol, he's brilliant, can't wait to see this rendered.
SimianSmash - Also really like the background, great sense of scale.

Ironbyte, yeah, I think you're probably right. Didn't spot that. I meant to comment on your little dude. He looks cheeky! I like the slimy highlights. The shoulder is working really well. Maybe a bit of bounceback light would hit his back on the right. Looks rather dark at the mo.

Basically finished this a few days ago, added some finishing touches today. I wanted to make the Goblin a little sleek and mysterious, basically a tiny amphibious ninja:

Final for this week, I think. Unless I think of any changes it might need.

hey craig, quick crit, is he falling? not sure what you were trying to do (maybe suggest some movement?), but as it is, without a background to help make sense of why he's so inclined, it just looks crooked.

Hmm.. My girlfriend said the same thing. I was trying to go for a, kind of, dramatic movie poster type of deal, but may have failed. May take another look at it. Cheers.

Thought the face mask was too boring, and didn't suggest that this is an unusual creature. I think I'm done with this:
