Goblin Assassin
Deadline - Sunday, December 16 10PM GMT


Within the Royal Goblin Palace, in the darkest shadows, the Goblin Assassin awaits the Kings signal, and the name of the next target.
Throughout his reign, the Goblin King has made many enemies and with the Goblin Assassin at his side, he will stop
at nothing to make sure they do not stand in his way.

This week we would like you to design the Goblin Assassin, a master of arms and the real power behind the Goblin throne.

The Guidelines:

• Can be male or female
• The Goblin Assassin is a member of the Kings Royal Court, this must be evident in your design
• Think about what kind of weapon(s) the Goblin Assassin might use

The Rules

• Finals must be posted in the finals thread before the deadline
• Final post must include the CHoW number and the artists username at the bottom of the image
• At least 3/4 of the character must be visible
• At least two wips posted in the finals thread
• Background is optional
• Have fun!

I really like the drawing, but he seems quite heavily dressed, would be hard to move around agile. Unless he can just throw his hood somewhere before he goes for the kill.

I had thought about it as I was drawing. I figured either 1) he was possessed of such skill that if he didn't wear so much clothes the kill would be too easy (a la certain anime characters wearing some mystical eye patch to keep their full powers at bay); or 2) yes, he would doff the garb previous to the kill

It is a goblin assassin, not "one who assassinate's goblins" So, it needs to be a goblin.

does it have to be 100% goblin? what if he's the son of the king and a slave/foreigner mistress?

Must be 100% Goblin, we don't want people making up different combos, it will just stray to far from the brief.

A lil poop for your troubles.. Not really sure where this is going, but seeing as goblins and such isn't my strong point, I thought I'd join in this week's challenge also. You know, step out the comfort zone shizzle!

well 30 minutes in this is all ive got, gonna work some more into it, my image its motly a silent goblin Assasin/Archer since he can do multiple assasinations at once and vanish without a trace, ill do a longer revision on the bow he uses as it is a "longbow" or a composite bow that enables him to do long shots might incorporate jewelry and some high end armor to portray that he is of royalty and works in the name of the king maybe a sigil?

Hi there-

Very very new here, but figured I would start trying out the Character Challenges!

Here's my first WIP.

Havok Reed: Very nice concept, I like the outfit a lot.

Ironbyte: Nice design, I like the belts/leather outfit but it doesn't show anything related him to The Goblin King.

Here's what I've got so far, I wanted to deviate from the Blizzard/WoW goblins so I did some head studies first (WoW, LOTR, Pathfinder) and mixed them up a little, then went to work on the outfit. I'm having a hard time tying him to The Goblin King so I'm thinking about the adding jewelry such as rings, etc. Also, I'm trying to come up with a Goblin King emblem to have painted over his loin cloth thing...I think I need to tone him down a little.



EDIT: I have no idea why my picture keeps showing up sideways but I don't have time to fire up Photoshop and fix it right now

Its been a long while since I've done a Chow. Good one to start off to again.

A quick stab at the breif so far.

baxter: Great job, I love the pose the design of the armor. She's too pretty to be a Goblin though and is coming off more like a gnome. Ugly her up a little, maybe make her features less fine and more brutish. Look at Princess Fiona from Shrek for a good example of how to make a traditional ugly character still seem pretty.

Capt Surge: Those are nice, but the longer limbs make them look tall and Goblins are typically short.

@fdisk: This is, after all, a character design. Aren't we meant—to some extent, at least—reinterpret ye ol' goblin? (I confess mine looks too much like a WoW troll... doh!) I guess I'm saying why not make a lanky goblin? O' course, a goblin could be "long" but be just 2 inches tall. Ah, nevermind.

Just a sketch, was playing around with the idea of him having a dog that he rides around, but that's rather silly so I think I'll drop it.
