Charlie's Bodacious Climb to Glory

Hi all.
I'm Charlie and I'm 21. I started a sketchbook quite a while ago, followed by my computer promptly giving up the ghost.
Now, however, I have gotten a new computer. So let the carnage begin!

I'm building a portfolio to get myself into art school or into an art foundation course and aim to eventually become a professional Illustrator and Concept Artist.
Any advice on how to make the most of my time studying at home before going into education would be greatly appreciated!

I'm aiming to do a painting a day, here's a few to start.
