Need help on what to price for an illustration commission

So I've never done this sort of commission before, but someone is asking me how much I would price them for an illustration, not full color just few tones.

So it's a faux movie poster, meant to be a bday gift. So res is pretty large, not full color just two tones probably, he doesn't know if he wants cartoony or realistic yet. That's all I got.

He needs it in about 1 week time.

$1,500 USD. Listen - it's a silly question. You don't even know the parameters of the commission - this is a non-professional situation...ask whatever you want.

Is $300.00 shorting myself? I honestly have no clue. It is silly I admit, it's not a professional commission, has anyone done personal commissions similar to this?

How many hours will it take you to finish it? charge at least 25 an hour

Sure - most of us do any number of personal commissions. I usually charge 1/2 my normal rate. $300 sounds ok...depends on how large, how many hours, etc. No way for us to know those answers.
