i probably should be studying for finals but eh have the first of many silly poses to come, and some hands

Very characterful stuff full of a lot of personality and expression very good observations of real people has taken place I can tell. Keep it up look forward to seeing how your progresses.
I like the range of emotion you are conveying on your faces, giving your sketches lots of character, nice dude.
thank you! :>
thanks! i try to press the emotions as much as i can whenever i do faces

aaand some from today!
making good use of the calendar
nervous line squiggles, then some weird pack-animals
and then all these were done on scrap paper on my desk. the first one is... some... troll-bird thing. i didn't like that ape-body in the lower right, i tried to make it more troll-like in the far left one.
THESE guys were fun! that gross lady demon thing is kinda... mixed up. too many types in one. snake-head-neck doesn't lend itself to the rest. i think i'll separate them in the future. but those biys are cuties. i clearly need to study 'thug neck'-s more though (º Hº)∫
(( whoops i think i got some subliminal cues for those thug alien boys from Cobra Bubbles and Jumba Jookiba...
these guys:![]()

Your character concepts are so good and fluid i am really impressed, love the pelican creature. The poses you pick are spot on good work, you must be studying animation?
thanks! oh man i wish. it's my dream to go do animation somewhere, but for the next few years i'll probably be slogging through college and junk :c
EDIT: speaking of slogging through college and junk, not much time for anything today except work up the willpower to finish schoolwork and this guy on the whiteboard. tryna put cow and bear together, apparently *shruggot*
DOUBLEEDIT: WHOOPS i lied

Nice rabbit bull. Is it original?
i guess so, i didn't use any reference or anything. :o
You can see your personality through your work your lines are very fluid
Wow man, You have a good grasp of expression!
Something about the nervous squiggle line piece really catches my attention.
A real lot of potential here.
Keep on your track and you will get to where you want to be in life my fellow brethren.
the other side of the nervous squiggle was much better tbhi don't really want to upload it here because it was just a stress-reliever and not really... idk maybe.
thank you! i try :Y i figure if i can't make as fancy as portraits or paintings as other people quite yet, i can make good expressions!
i'll try to stay as 'on track' as i can.![]()
I do a lot of stress relief line work as well,
Shapes / Designs, mostly triangles for some reason, I am interested in seeing it
You can private message me it if you don't want to make it public.
I'll show you mind if you show me yours. :p
Thanks for stopping by my sketchbook! Great start on yours!!! Like the others said, great life and flow in your line work. Its a very important thing to grasp for dynamic drawings! Keep up the good work and remember to always push everything to the next level!!![]()
Rhoshone: hehe, i'll probably just put them in a gallery in my account and post a link or something.
Joe777k7: no prob :> i'ma try to find ways to push myself, and ways to be tenacious about it too! a lot of the time i get super frustrated... :c
speaking of pushing myself... these are a couple of reminders about my painterly skills... hehe...
i did this guy first. breaking in the painting muscles
a little better... still, that fur will be the bane of me... :C
added some character sketches from today! sorry about the bad photo manip., my computer saved it weird... but it works. anyways. i need some real help with that pose on the right... i tried to make it like she would be hunched over, walking through a submarine hallway or low ceiling. also i'm not that good yet at doing energetic walking poses or shoes. shoes shoes shoes ugh.

You have really nice line quality. I dig those marker sketches, but then again I think I'm just a sucker for the way marker looks haha.
Good start you have so far your character designs look very expressive. I am not sure if you already do a lot of them but I would love to see some gesture drawings as well as a couple of life drawings too.
>>DeviantArt|SketchBook<<
Thnx for stopping by some very expressive faces here, something I know I'm lacking. Fur is a challenge for me too.
Interesting characters & design, the lineweight looks extra on some drawings, mmmmmm.. show moar![]()

hey all! thanks for stopping by!
kamikazel33t: thank you! i need to up my output of gesture drawings by quite a bit. as for life drawings, i need to set up times/places to do those. i'm super bad at doing drawings and coming back to them after an extended time :c let's see if i can do one over winter break for ya!
Samurai_Nik: i'm great at doing fur with lines only, but when it comes to painting.... ugh :X
eclip-se: thanks! extra? and yes, i plan to
speaking of showing more, today's update!
figure drawins, 60 seconds each
and here i stopped on half the page and doodled some other things

Thanks for the comments!
I'm really digging your creatures, ESPECIALLY the bear/warthog/wolverine creature on post #5.
i agree with psychotime do more of the boar! god damn that really standed out from it all, not only because it was in color but because it showed a certain painterly feel, wich is very good, also i love looking at your style but do also come back to the fine arts training and you know the mandatory anatomy studies and perspective grinding because that is where you train your mind eye and your abilty to capture, plus your cartoons will greatly benefit from this training, hope to see more in the future!!
cheers

hey all! teensy update: the first week of my winter break is over! aaand with that i haven't gotten much art done :c also i've been super bad at uploading any mini sketches i've done or anything. lets see if i can remedy that tomorrow.
EDIT: and tomorrow is today! there's... not very much to show here offhand... :c
free-doodling some gunslinger chick, but didn't get very far. went back and filled the page in a bit with some hands
more of the boar/bear thing! trying to figure out that hind leg works... :?

today's update: hands!hand + arms and a little perspective thing
also a monster

I know everyone keeps saying this, but your sense of expression is golden. Love the middle school wolf too. I think we all had that phase, hahaha. It's great to pull that stuff out and see how much you've improved though.
Check out my sketchbook! Socially acceptable opportunity to yell at a teenage girl!
yay cartoons!
Like your SB so far- you definitely draw like an animator -- lots of quick emotive stuff. Keep up all the gestural stuff, it's going well -- also think about adding some longer studies, and stuff that focuses on perspective. Characters interacting with objects, chairs, stairs, what have you. That stuff looks great on college portfolios
Happy sketching
Rhubix: thank you!longer studies are definetly a must. hmmm, interacting with objects! i'll try that in my next sketch sit-down. thanks! :>>>
eh, been feeling down and not very chipper lately... drew some fun animal people, but they all ended up bored or distraught... or that loopy thing up there... :C but Katia Managam is in there, so it's not all depressing! *cheesy wink*

great style and great expression as always, theres more dynamism than before, keep pushing! if you find yourself in a slump draw something from yout favourite artists, its great help kick in that creativity and if nothing comes out atleast you practiced somethinghope to see moaaaaaaaaaar

hey! i ended up doing some super fun sketches last night! they're not much, but to me they represent the thing i've gotten the most enjoyment out of my art in a long time.
body poses for a character! emotion and action and adjective practice with the body!
