Thanks ja1307. Indeed my proportions is not so correct. Your right, the eyes are too big, and the forms are not always anatomically right. I'll definitely follow your advices. I think Loomis book Successful Drawing is useful especially for perspective and anatomy construction based on mash, not for forms specifically. I have to learn construction first then move for forms... not based on Loomis. Better follow Michael Hampton's Figure drawing-design and invention.

I know it's boring but here it is a simple study for anatomy positions. Today I worked enough... but I feel a little empty. It seems to me that I'm at no point in this study. Maybe I mistake something, or I don't study well what I see or what I read... don't now. Tomorrow will be better I hope.

I like your studies, you've got great attention to detail, and I see you're taking some lessons from Michael Hampton's book for anatomy?

There's actually some nice improvement since last time I checked your sketchbook (which wasn't long ago! So quick improvement, well done!) Keep going, and push farther

Along with his drawing manual he also has videos for each chapter, they're not a must, but they're around 1 hour 30 minutes for each video, so it's very detailed and helpful

good perspective and execution in the cup and the shoe, still lifes will always help you take your eye to the next level, and if you are able to see better it means you can see whats wrong with YOUR lines and slowly start to work differently, its all about thinking on how to take what you see and put it in the paper, dont be afraid to let some loose details sometimes less is more, look around the exclusive sketchbook section there are some great people there, look at their quick figure drawings and compare them to yours, there is alot you can learn from how other people do things, i specially did, and if you want to get into enviroment and level design i encourage you to look into jack hamms enviroment and landscaping books, one last suggestion before i go my friend, make yourself a schedule so even if you can only draw 1 or 2 hours a day you can squeeze those 2 hours to make the most results, personally i believe its best to mantain an equal effort in: Drawing from life, drawing from your head, and drawing from photos, now you could only do 2 of those or all three but atleast do two because if you dont it will be harder afterwards bring it on man if you can keep a good pace i assure you you will be alooot better in, say 6 months keep it up!

That is real nice work man, those eyes look very 3 dimensional, and that fallout environment is beautifully done, you're getting there

Looks like you're progressing a lot Lucarky! You're beginning to really draw what you see rather than what you think you see all these studies on life that you've been doing like the cup of tea and those drawn from references show great improvement from when you started this thread! I see you've been having trouble with eyes though this is an area you obviously are still stuck in the symbolisation area but it seems you know this and in your last post you've began to story the anatomy of the eye more with the structure studies, which is great to see!

Knowing how things are made up will help you in the long run! I would suggest from your previous eye sketchs/studies that to remember that the eye ball itself is as it suggests a ball so the shading is the same as any other ball but you only see a small part of that ball. Also the white of the eye is hardly ever white itself unless harsh reflections are going on but they are normally occuring within the iris itself. Just kept that in mind!

Keep up the studies and the good work!

Really good progress. You are on the right path. Keep on study perspective and always look for the big shapes first. It was difficult for me at first but it pays off. Keep up the good work.

    Bargue again PLATE I, 4
And a drawing from reference. I'm trying to follow the Bargue hatching, working for forms of black and white then modeling the half-tones. Obviously it's not finished yet, want to draw it carefully.
PS: sorry for the bad quality. I absolutely have to buy a scanner this week.

These days I made a little step further, and tried to do a digital painting following a tutorial.
Ithink it turned out real good. If you think that's my first time doing a digital environment painting, I'm really satisfied.

    Done in about 6 hours.
