Shouldn't this be in the desperate-for-attention-and-validation "You know you're an artists when.." thread?

On a serious note, the kid found out that he want to get better at drawing, and wants to share his obsession with like-minded, and that just happened to take the form of an slightly attentionfishing annoying non-question.

This would be my Pleine Air blog

Seeking approval to read a book? Seriously?

Just wrap the cover from "How to stop masturbating in public" around it.

Ah hell man, you didn't hear? Back in '09 they made reading art books on the metro illegal. Better be more subtle about it, would suck to get a ticket.

    Books are so 90's.

Man I hope so. I would really hate to spend 2 hours being boring and ordinary on the metro. That would be 2 hours wasted.
    ETC..

really??.....is that the best you people can do come up with.... smartass answers

it might seem a stupid question from your point of view but it is not from mine. you dont know where i live you dont know what cultural differences we have here
and all you could think is a smartass way reply which would make your answer funny.

    no wonder

    Clarification and Comprehension.

Your initial post was not made clear, so there was a lack of comprehension.

Realize, people post things like "How do I use a book?" in this place.

Become more specific in your question, and clear, and comprehension by us would be more abundant.

You would get a more apropriate answers.
"Everything must serve the idea. The means used to convey the idea should be the simplest and clear. Just what is required. No extra images. To me this is a universal principle of art. Saying as much as possible with a minimum of means."

If you live in a culture where reading specific books on the train is frowned upon, and if you need culture-specific advice, perhaps you should specify your culture up front... Otherwise you'll get general answers based on general experience.

Although I honestly can't think of very many cultures where reading whatever you want on the train would be a problem...

Seriously, since when does an artist worry about what people think? You are making good use of your time by learning. Go for it!

I read many art books on the train, some even containing sketches of nude people! Heaven forbid!

Why waste time where it could be spent reading or doing something practical?
You sir, I think need to start learning not to give a damn what others think...

Well, why don't you just cry about it instead? Oh wait...

Locking this before it becomes even stupider. If that's possible.
