Is it Weird to read Artist books in metro??

To be more specific books like "bridgman's guide to drawing from life"
is it weird to read them in metro [Subway trains some might call them]
i travel in metro every day 45 min - 1 hour one way
that makes 90min - 2 hrs in a day wasted by going back and forth to work
although i do read novels in that time but i was just wondering
would it be weird to read artist's books in metro??

I read a bridgeman book, I forgot the title, something about mechanical anatomy or something similar, primarily on buses. I actually made a few friends by doing so. people were genuinely interested in what I was reading and why. Only issue may be, people to love to distract you from reading. I've found this with all art books on public transit. people want to ask you what you are reading, what it's about; they want you to give them a synopsis on the book, they ask if you're an artist, what kind; they tell you how they like art, if they consider themselves an artist, about their uncle who did art once, and was really good.... and it just goes on and on.
Same thing happens if I'm sketching on the bus.

Anyway, if a priest reads his bible in the bus (and also mark the everliving crap out of it, it was full of pink and yellow passage markings and writing), why would it be weird for an artist to read drawing books while sitting in the subway?

lol what sort of question is that? A drawing book, a novel book, a comic book, I dont think people care about what you read unless your trying to please someone. People in my country sometimes use those reading tablets and watching movies on a laptop, and just play loud music the young people do. Just read it!

I read many art books on the train, some even containing sketches of nude people! Heaven forbid!

Why waste time where it could be spent reading or doing something practical?

It is never wrong to read an art book; well maybe occasionally- but that tends to happen behind closed doors, not while on a bus... unless you are on a kinky Japanese train.
