Thank you so much! That's very kind of you :3

I really like your style. I know somebody already recommend vilppu, I also suggest you read The Vilppu Drawing manual and do some practice on that. I also recommend your read Andrew Loomis's book Drawing Heads & Hands, do tons of studies from him. Mainly focus on proportions as well as constructing the eye as I see you might be facing problems in those territories.

Hi, I see you like doing head studies, that's good.
But try to do other stuff too.
Wow! Combo! XD thanks guys!
@Kamikazel: I will be sure to look that upThanks for the crits :3
@Pete: I will be sure to do that too :3
Interesting stuff, I really like those black and white figures you did there.
Simple looking yet very cool!
Keep it up!
Thanks julius :3
A quick thing I did after spending hours playing DotA XD I was watching Feng-Zhu's design cinema and decided to do some designMore coming later :3

Right, so I don't have any idea why that happened or why I can't delete that... But here's what was supposed to be there

Good god that's annoying... Here's another thing as a test... Please don't hate me if it reposts itself XD

CA is back! Thank god! Well that's a relief... And here's an experiment on color! I tried to focus on the face for the most part, so it gets less detailed as it goes down. Hope you guys will like it ^^
More to come![]()
Done for sinix's gun tech design lab... Enjoy.

More.

Hey man, saw your stuff on sinix's design lab, they're sweet! I see we have the same favorite color schemes (black and orange) as wellI think your industrial sense for things like mechs, guns, vehicles, etc. are already pretty good, so keep working into those, but I really think you could benefit from some anatomy books and hardcore studying
I would really recommend Bridgeman's complete guide to drawing from life, and if you have an iphone or ipad, check out the L'ecorche app, it's a 3d rotatable figure for anatomy which also lets you color code all the different muscle segments! And it shows the skeleton too
If you want to know a little trick I used to learn colors a bit faster, just make little abstract shapes with very few planes and experiment with hue shifts, sat-desat ratio, etc. They're super fun and you can get through like 10 of them in an hour and learn a lot C: I really hope to see more from you, I see you've progressed a lot already just in the few weeks you've been here.
[EDIT] The dev's for the L'ecorche app plan on making a desktop version in the future, which will be way awesomer![]()

I swear one day I'll be good. I swear one day I will be proud of my work. When that day comes, I'll need to kick my ass and try harder.

Hi StressCavity! I love all your stuff and I think we do have kind of the same color schemeI love orange and black, I use it all the time in my mini sketchbook with thumbnail designs. Thank you so much for all the good tips! I know I am a bit behind on anatomy and gestures and I am trying to remedy that. Unfortunately I dont have any apple products... I am a sophomore and am broke... :C I will definitely do the hue shift experiment you suggested
You seem pretty cool too! Not the kind of person who ultimately critiques the crap out of things (I've had that before... It's quite discouraging...) See you in the next design lab, perchance? XD
This is just a test... May use it as my user avatar thingy...

Heres a fun thing I did a few minutes agoTook me like 5 minutes to do but it was fun anyway
I may have spent a bit more time on the blood than the face... Sign of insanity? Maybe... No way of knowing for sure
Sorry for not posting anything substantial lately
Been busy with school and have been sketching away in my minis sketchbewk to improve :3 Stay tuned guys!

HAHA DOUBLE UPLOAD! Seriously, did this just now...Study on shadows. By the way, I dont use ref photos. All these are from my head... EVERY... SINGLE... ONE... DUDE... OR DUDETTE...

Another skin tone study... If someone were to share info on how to make it look good when painting over the lines that would be most helpful![]()
![]()
Hey man, good job on all the drawing lately! You've been improving a lotI saw that you wanted to know how to paint without lines and I did a little paintover to kinda show how, although I'm not very good so don't take my word as fact, I'm probably doing something wrong lol. But, I think I can at least help a little. You seem to place the lines to either outline a form, or depict a plane shift. So to paint without lines, all you gotta do is keep a nice crisp edge (for the most part) where you placed "outline" lines, and show a distinct change in value on plane changes, which can be gradated or sharp like the outline. The key is just to depict a "line" with the meeting of 2 contrasting hues or values, as they form a sharp line at the meeting place
I hope it was somewhat helpful.
I swear one day I'll be good. I swear one day I will be proud of my work. When that day comes, I'll need to kick my ass and try harder.
[Sketchbook]
@StressCavity: Thanks a lot! The paint-over looks nice! I can see what you mean by creating a value difference between two planesAnyway here's a little something... Thought I'd try doing what Sinix did, it looked intriguing.

interesting design sense...your faces do appear abit squashed and disproportional, so keep drawing from reference. i love the bumblebee looking gun design!
