Spartan Camp #246 - 50 gestures + Optional "Caricature Study"
The aim is to produce 50 gestures by Sunday the 2nd of December.
- The gestures can be of anything, human, animal, cavorting capybaras.... You can draw full figures, but you can also go for heads, arms, eyes, or anything specific. All media can be used, both digital or traditional. Coloured or black/white. Quick scribbles or long studies. Imagination or referenced. Clothed or nude. Specifics are up to you!
- In addition to this, participants can choose to do an Optional "Caricature Study", in any medium.
Additional notes on this weeks’ Optional Study:
This week, the optional study will focus on caricature. As you know, a caricature tends to be a distorted or exaggerated image of a person or object. Think about the caricatures in newspapers and tabloids, where the subjects tend to be well-known people. Or the ones done by street caricature artists. For this study, choose your own topic and produce a caricature. Subjects such as politicians or actors can be practical, since there is plenty of reference around (as well as existing caricatures!). But you are free to choose your own subject. It's not a very strict study, but keep in mind that despite the distortion, whatever it is you are drawing should be recognizable! Also, keep it tasteful
Colour, medium, time frame, any specifics are up to you! Good luck and have fun! And feel free to ask questions!
50 poses is a challenge, but don't hurry or stress yourself reaching it! Focus on drawing, as practising is the main goal of this exercise.
Criticizing each other is highly encouraged!! Share constructive criticism, reference images and resources!! Let's help each other get better!
Come on soldiers! Flex those muscles!!

Haha, love your energy! Ready for another round of awesomeness! You are guys are so motivating me, and I am learning a lot from looking at everybody's work!
I love that you're challenging yourself with 60 sec poses and digital. I would suggest maybe not passing over the lines too many times, you lose time and clarity of the figure (not that I do it right either, but it's on my list of things to avoid)
