    Husky's Sketch doodles

11/29/12EDIT:I'm starting up this thread again, after such a long time. I feel like I've done wrong to myself, and the people who had helped me so far in this sketchbook.. I'm truly thankful for whoever has commented so far... As of today, i'll make a it a goal to post up whatever i draw, the good, the bad, the ugly, all of it. Hoping to start a new beginning again, much appreciations. -Tu Le

Heads up: Some images may be too big (pages 1-3) are filled with my sketch books, and various studies of bridgman

Information: My name is Tu Le, (17 years old) Born on July 29,1994, raised in the state of California and city of Sacramento. My story as an artist began with cartoons. I was heavily influenced later by the introduction of cartoon networks Toonami. Ever since then, I've had the urge to start drawing the flashy characters, big robots with lazers, and girls.
I kept drawing until my 4th year of elementary school, where I dropped art for 2 years. It wasn't till middle school that my path as an artist seriously started. From then on I've been drawing seriously to my Junior year(current).
My Junior year has been the most productive year of the many years i had before, I had started digital painting, started and finished a sketch book, and above all, KEEP every drawing that I've done to this point.

Interests: I've been largely influenced by cartoons and anime ever since I was young. Wanting to major in Character animation at calarts!
If there are any illustrators/animators willing to give advice/critiques/ help to a young artist, anything is appreciated!

Please do not hesitate to critique or comment on any work! (please be helpful though!)

    1/16/12- 6/12/12
    -first sketch book ever completed.

First benchmark met! I'm happy that I've finally finished my first sketch book(110 pages, 220 front/back, 3x9) I've had many sketch books before this one, but I've never completed one till now. I had a bad habit from my freshman/sophomore year of butchering my sketch books, tearing out papers, and saving the remaining paper, to draw on later, till I had a full stack of papers( most are actually from old, donated sketch books from students who never used them).
For what's remaining, I have 2 leather bounded sketchbooks, 2 spiral bounded sketchbooks, a unknown amount of seperated sketch papers, a heap of old line paper on a clip board, and a full binder of copy paper/line paper.... Means i won't be burdened with running out of paper any time soon. Wish me luck.

Cool stuff! Great start to your sketchbook, i really love your cute style, and its awesome to see you're able to jump from super cartoony to very fleshed out and rendered so easily. You've definitely got a solid handle on your work, i wish i could have said that about myself when i was 17...! Hell i still cant do half of that now :B. Anyway, great characters and ideas, your girls are cute and its good to see you're not shying away from drawing men.

Sketchwork is some of my favorite stuff to see so im delighted to find a new book full of so many delightful pencil sketches~ You're definitely on the right track, your form and construction is very solid, and as i said before you've got some awesome concepts and ideas. Also dig those pages with the miniscule figures packed into every inch, i do the same thing all the time as a warm up exercise!

Great stuff, i'll definitely be back for more, consider me inspired!

Ok this gets instant 5 stars from m.e, and i mean snap pronto right now. The only thing i mind is the lack of giant robots and dinosaurs and shit, but i'm sure you'll be picking up that slack eventually. Keep 'em coming!

-Walnut thanks for comment! I do agree that I am lacking in the variety of subjects, I'll be sure to mix it up a bit in my next sketch book! much thanks again for taking the time to look at my sketches.

Gah! More delicious updates already?! Must be my lucky day~ Looks like you're a fan of Sam M. I must admit his work drove me very early on the be an illustrator. Though it looks like you'll be surpassing his work in no time, nice!

No crits yet, each update shows more of what i wanted to see earlier , solid figure drawings and studies, i'd perhaps want to see more in depth musculature studies in the future.

Nicely done again, keep it up! You're making me feel like a lazy dick...!

thanks! yes, Sam Mckenzie is one of my many favorite artists! he's been a huge inspiration when i was younger and he still is! I'm also going to focusing on anatomy for my the extent of my summer.

Books I plan to study Varies from the Bridgman books, Andrew loomis, Hogarth, Stephen Roger's anatomy book, possibly other books as well.
I think I might look at Bamme's anatomy book, but unfortunetly, i only have the german PDF's of his books.

from this point, these are actually out of order, the next sketch pages are older then some of the pages that i've already posted. Also, some of the pictures have not been flipped so I do apologize for that.

Hello and welcome to CA! Excellent start to your sketchbook! You've got a good grasp of anatomy and I'm loving your style. Great lines and fluidity in your characters.

Your studies are coming along nicely. Awesome to see both your studies and you imagination drawings too. Keep up the anatomy studies and study from life! Also, try and delve into color, even if it is a simple monochromatic scheme. You can start by using markers, watercolors, etc.

Keep up the awesome work and good luck!

Your drawings are all very alive. I'd say just keep at it. I see no reason why you can't be an illustrator.

thanks! it means a lot to get feed back on drawings, it's nice to see some suggestions users gives ^^. I've seen some of your recent work, very lovely characters! also, might you recommend any brands of markers? I don't have a lot of experiences with markers :c
