    Smile MT learns to draw!

Hello everyone here on conceptart !

So.. I joined this site a while ago but never found the courage to start my own thread until now.
The thing is, I really want to get better at drawing and I think this site is the best place to start out,
I'm Marie, female, from Germany. Hello!

Well, something about me: I first drew a lot of manga-style things but I stopped and then I discovered deviantart and all the amazing artists out there!
Inspired by that I started to draw digitally but well,.. came to the conclusion that I need to start with the basics.. but where to start theres so much to learn :/
Since I really want to be able to draw people I thought I could start with drawing poses, because I know nothing about anatomy and stuff..

So here I am, thankful for every critique or tip that I can get, hoping to make the time to practise a lot and lets see where this gets me

Here ist something I did today, some studies from a picture.
I hope to be able to update daily, thanks in advance!

    Hi Daria!
Thanks for your reply, I was so happy when I saw it!

I did some 30 seconds drawing on posemaniacs today, it's really difficult :/
    But practice makes perfect, right?
    More tomorrow!

definitely flip your images so they are showing the right way and if your using Photoshop you should tweak the "level" so the line work appears darker. Keep posting.

They're quite good! Did you try to imagine poses yourself after this practice session?

Wow, didn't post anything for a month!
Actually I felt very unmotivated when it came to actively practise drawing, because I got bored very quickly... but when I picked up a pencil and just drew, the result was so disappointing..

So I'm back again, because it doesn't work without studying things.
Maybe I can come up with a method to make practising more fun!

Until then here is a little bit of head and figure study, I used stock photos from dA

I'm glad conceptart is up again!

These sketches are poses from posemaniacs and facestudies from screenshots and other references.
I did the more cartoony looking faces without a reference.
